THE SET-UP: As the battle at the top of Faylar's palace continues, things get complex. The Jedi are on this world, that recently left the Republic after Faylar became its leader, to rescue the wayward Jedi Argentis. The Dark Siders come to kill Faylar, who betrayed them in the past. While Faylar has proven to be no friend of the Jedi they hesitate to simply let the Dark Siders kill him out of hand. While the main body of the Jedi have moved to try and protect Argentis from his former Master, and leader of the Dark Siders, Kuylen, Master Gundark dispatched Mah to keep an eye on Faylar. A huge battle echoes throughout the level ad Faylar's endless numbers of illegally acquired droids shoot just about everything they see. Faylar and his bodyguard desperately flee to the nearest exit but two Dark Siders catch his party- Kuylen's huge, silent and vicious right-hand man Chion, and crafty, cruel and flamboyant Quam Ak-toh.

Mah finds Chion butchering part of the bodyguard and, despite sensing more danger nearby, gives chase to make a fight of it. Nearby Quam and Kiel can react to the situation long before anything happens.

THE RULES: This actually carries on as a normal thread; just that bringing you guys together was the easiest way to resolve this. This may or may not later become a sabre battle involving between two and all of you.


Quam, you are happily blowing away part of the bodyguard when you hear the loud, lumbering presence of Chion running your way. When you look up to see him, he jabs a fat, white, alien thumb behind him. Running this way comes a Jedi you are unfamiliar with; tall and agile-looking.

Mah, you have just run into two Dark Siders.

There are more evnts to happen, but either of you may want to react at this point...

This is an open area with numerous narrow corridors, formed by crates, leading off from many places. Chion was chasing Faylar's men up one of these corridors, and you followed him down it. Quam was attacking Faylar's men in the open area; Faylar himself cannot be seen from here and is presumably somewhere ahead. Chion stopped when he ran into the area, indicated to Quam, and turned to face you.

When Chion turned towards him, Mah understood there was no way discussing things over would work with that guy, so he had to attack. He quickly started walking towards Chion, ignited his lightsabre again whilst doing so, and did a diagonal strike at Chion.

Obviously not one for banter, is Mah... but this isn't a sabre fight yet until all four potentials have declared their intentions.

Chion brings up his large sabre (which has an unusual handle designed to fit his alien hands, with two large bulbous spheres on it, covered in a strange substance) and blocks your first blow, and then pushes forwards with ENORMOUS strength. You stagger backwarda, Mah. Chion smiles a most horiffic smile that causes the veins on his head to constrict and pulse...

Hmm, queeq's absence is troubling... still, events are happening.

The current stand-off is interrupted by an ENORMOUS explosion nearby. You guys are well clear from the blast radius but the sound is tremendous. It's a thermal detonator that has gone off; large enough itself but a load of ammo crates went off with it. It is from the area a fair way ahead of you that Faylar's men are heading towards.

Now emerging between you guys and the rest of Faylar's mob is Kiel. Quam, you see an ageing Twi'lek Jedi with a certain air of calm intelligence around him.

Chion has taken several steps backwards at this point, looking quickly between the two Jedi. He speaks, in a low, LOW tone.

"At last. The Jedi," he says.

''You seem to look forward to this encounter, but don't let that cloud your judgement. Brute strength is nothing against well-timed technique.''

(Chion can talk!? Sorry, just had to ask)

(This is, indeed, the first time Chion has spoken)

Brave words, Mah; if only he had appeared to have no technique when you saw him kill those people...

Much longer without queeq and I will proceed without him.

Mah, you are also feeling discomfort after that bang; your friends are in a certain amount of trouble.

(well better showing that than telling him how much I think I'm in poodoo, eh.)

(Don't worry; the bravado is appreciated! No good if Obi-Wan had said to Dooku "Blimey, you're right! I don't have a chance against you!"

Ok, with queeq not around there is no point in this thread. I will close it and Mah can handle things in the Light Side thread, once I think of how to proceed.
