Is this canon? ...Hmmm... http://www.swcomics.com/Empire_Era2_c.php?i=22&f=22&name=Splinter_of_the_Minds_Eye_Part_4_of_4

Splinter of the Minds Eye, what a silly comic.

Anyway, can he?

DE Luke
No.

Darth Vious
The RotS Visual Dictionary said that Vader could not conjur (nor repel) Force lightning as it required living hands to do so. If anything, it looked like Luke was using it...

Legion_of_Maul
well, i think vader could, but it would just fry his circuits, because i don't think the force cares where the lightning comes out just as long as it comes out.

Captain REX
From the looks of the comic, Vader conjured it and Luke repeled it back at him.

That section of Splinter has since fallen out of continuity.

And Vader loses by tripping over his own arm...

Keep in mind that Splinter of the Mind's Eye was written in 1978, the first EU novel ever. The comic is based off of that.

If you think about it, Sith Lightning didn't exist yet. blink

I think all of Splinter has fallen from continuity, particularly Luke's attraction to Leia...
Oh wait...

eek! sick eek! sick laughing laughing laughing

jollyjim311
Along with C-3p0's attraction to Artoo...

Sorry, call me immature, but I can't take that line seriously...

Captain REX
What, lubricants? stick out tongue

jollyjim311
Yeah, as juvenile as it may seem, it makes me giggle (in a manly way, of course). I kind of expect Artoo to break out into a porno-base-beat of whistles and extend all his gadgets after C-3p0 says that.

Captain REX
lol

overlord
Yes, he can now use force lightning.

Captain REX
Nah, he could use Force Lightning in 1978. eek!

overlord
He can use it from now on. The newest source book made an error, they overlooked that he just did it. Also, Vader can just stop force lightning just like yoda. You will all have to remember that for the versus forum!

jollyjim311
Yay!

Wait, Luke has an artificial hand and can use lightning...

Vader using force lightning is back on!

jollyjim311
Or is that only with his left hand? Does anyone have links of Luke using his lightning?

overlord
Yeah, just because Vader didn't feel the need to use force lightning in a movie doesn't mean he can't do it!
eek!

Darth_Malazia
I think it would work however he could only use it for a short time before it fried him into a large hunk of leather covered Bacon

Captain REX
Well, whichever hand Vader used would be fried and he wouldn't be able to use it until it was repaired or replaced...

Darin Saine
Actually, in the ROTS novelization, Palpatine remarks on how Vader would never be able to use Force lightning, as it required at least one biological limb to channel it through.

Captain REX
Take that signature down, Sorgo.

And we realize that. If he didn't have the hand in the way, he probably could. But he'd fry himself with the hand in the way.

No he has no limbs that are organic. Therefore, since the force is harnessed through an adapts physical, flesh body, mechanical limbs impede the force wielder growth in more complex areas of the force.

Reference: Legacy of the Force: Blood Lines. (Or Betrayal which ever one is first).

I think it was also in Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, too.

ESB Vader
yes but i dont know if this game is canon, but he demonstrated lightning but a different variation, it comes directly from the air, not his hands
i dont know but maybe he used nature as a weapon? using the force to target an enemy and lightning from the sky maybe,
as master Ood the tree did in DEII
