Okay many people have argued that Ganondorf can only be damaged by the Master Sword and Light/Silver Arrows. They used mainly these arguements:
1.) Link took a direct swing against Ganondorf with a direct attack and it didn't hurt Ganondorf
2.) Ganondorf took a direct blast from a fire ball and wasn't effected at all
3.) You have to use the Master Sword in OoT to finish off Ganon
How true are these arguments? Did the game makers contradict themselves? Or is there another answer within other Zelda games. In all three of those arguments what did Ganondorf have? The Triforce of Power. Yet when the Triforce of Power left him in Wind Waker to reform the full Triforce Ganondorf used twin swords and nothing else.
In OoT Ganondorf brought down an entire tower with his last breath. In OoT he was capable of firing 5-8 energy balls at you at once. He was also able to send forth a powerful shock wave capable of throwing Link around like a rag doll. We see all these feats Ganondorf did in OoT but in Wind Waker all he used to battle Link was the twin swords.
What could this mean? All the stories where Ganondorf conquered Hyrule they all had one thing in common:
Straight from the LOZ manuel
Long ago in the land of Hyrule, legends spoke of the Triforce-three golden triangels with mystical powers. When Ganon, Prince of Darkness, invaded the kindgom and stole the Triforce of Power, the princess Zelda took the Triforce of Wisdom and broke it into eight pieces. She hid them to protect the Triforce from Ganon's clutches. Furious, Ganon imprisoned Zelda. It was a young boy named Link who endeavored to save her...
Quote from OoT
Rauru:
He obtained the Triforce from the Temple of Light, and with its power, he
became the King of Evil... His evil power radiated from the temples of Hyrule, and in seven short years, it transformed Hyrule into a world of monsters.
Even in a Link to the Past it has been said that with the Triforce Ganon managed to conquer the Golden Land. It seems Ganondorf is this mighty being only with the Triforce (or a shard) with him. Some said Ganondorf had the power to conquer Hyrule without it but then why go through all the trouble to get it if you already had the power?
That makes no sense. The only thing Ganondorf has been shown to do was fire a single energy ball capable of knocking down a 10 year old. That's the greatest thing we have seen him do without any shard from the Triforce.
Some would say that Ganon from Four Swords Adventures did not have any piece of the Triforce. But he did have the Trident which was stated in Four Swords Adventures in the Pyramid that Ganon was very powerful while wielding the Trident. He went through a lot to get the Trident so if he had the power why bother going through all the trouble to gain something that he didn't need?
Also it has been shown that the Magical Sword was capable of inflicting damage against Ganon and some said that the Magical Sword is the Master Sword but no website, link, quote, or anything confirms that. Also you could defeat Ganon with the Wooden Sword or the White Sword. The Wooden Sword is a piece of wood and it managed to inflict damage against Ganon.
Some would say that it just helped weaken Ganon in order to finish him with the Silver Arrow but in Four Swords Adventures Link did not have the Master Sword or the Light/Silver Arrow and he fought and managed to defeat Ganon.
In OoT you could once again inflict damage on Ganondorf and Ganon using the Megaton Hammer and Biggoron's Sword. Some said it was to make the game beatable but Link had access to all of his weapons against Ganondorf so it seemed pointless for the game makers to allow other weapons to hurt him unless they wanted only wanted a certain one to do it. So that means at OoT Ganondorf was capable of being damaged by other weapons.
His magic is easily seen to be powered by the Trifroce of Power or full Triforce. From OoT where he was capable of bringing down an entire tower while wounded to him only using two swords to fight in WW.
My final argument is with Ganondorf and Ganon being the same person. The offical website: http://www.zelda.com/universe/pedia/g.jsp: backs up my claim.
Also known as the King of Evil, Ganon is the epitome of anger, hate and envy. Ganon's life began as a human named Ganondorf, but his heart was so vile that eventually he could no longer hide the ugliness which he held inside.
Ganon is the inner demon of Ganondorf who Ganondorf tried to contain but failed. That is why in Zelda 1 and a Link to the Past he only appears as Ganon and not once as Ganondorf. Who would want to walk around all day as a giant pig monster?
And OoT showed Ganondorf's Triforce symbol on his hand glowing before he transformed. Perhaps that has something to do with it. If he would do it whenever he pleased he would have done so when he was weakened in WW.
