He can survive much MUCH worse than just a nuclear explosion. The citgo thing (obviously) is PIS.

This is how it goes.

Superman shows up, and see this two man team of a man and woman...

He sees her invisible constructs(he sees everything dontchaknow?) and powers up, since he's part Kryptonian and part Saiyan.

He reaches SuperKryptoMan level one, and goes for the "omfg!! Speedblitz wieith planetbussing punches and leightsped tieumes a billii=on boomturbelistic powahhh!@!" and then sees the flame guy shoot a decent sized fireball at him.
He laughs, until he smells the thick, noxious gasoline fumes coming from behind him.
With a cringe and a memory recall of Doomsdays hot, muggy breath caressing the downy hair on the back of his neck, he feels the dread explosion of the Citgo.................
