Supes does get knocked around in comics sometimes--but he often does that because he chooses to, not because he can't stop it -- he's one of the most durable characters in comics.

There's not a lot he hasn't overcome with relative ease.

But yes, he did close black holes pre-crisis as well.

Superman thought Wonder Woman had killed Lois in that fight they had before IC, she stood up to it and did damage and was holding back slightly, don't see why Surfer can't do even better than she did, especially bloodlusted, he'd take a huge majority.
