i dont know zangief's abilities, but i know that DK can punch as hard as, well, a gorilla (which are incredibly strong), and can pull around 3-5 punches a second or faster..he can also roar loud enough to cause minature shockwaves..

argh, i have changed my mind, donkey kong is the most powerful fighter in the mario universe if we dont count the nearly unbeatable ones like shadow queen and cortez...
