Selene vs Cannonball

Selene and with a fair amount of ease....

* She has Super Speed, Strength, Reflexes, Durability(Immune to conventional injuries and super healing...immune to pain i.e. Knife through the heart by Sunspot)
* She's been revealed to be a shadowmorph so her durability doesn't make much of a difference...since nothing physical will be able to hurt her..
* She has telekinesis and telepathy
* She can teleport
* She has drained the life-force and killed beings who are immortal(Externals) so Cannonball should be no problem...all she needs is a single touch...
* Animation and control of non-living materials including flame. Which also means the entire abiotic enviroment....and clothes...
* She has very very vast magical powers
* Has hypnotic powers
* Power to shift her own shape and alter that of others
* Power to levitate
* Ability to create near-impenetrable energy shields.
* Pyrokinesis
* Inanimate Disintegration
* Immortallity

She gains new powers with each appearance..

NXM Academy #31 will be her next appearance..

I also have a scan where Selene stops and almost kills Cannonball...in New Mutants...

Cannonball was put down by running into some steel. What the f**k?

If not for her telepathy, Cannonball would win eventually. But, since she has TP, Selene wins.

That was kind of the point stick out tongue ...they have also faced off in New Mutants #9 and #10..and also when she went after Magma...she kicked his butt then too...

However I disagree with the second part of your post...barring telepathy Selene still curbstomps him...

Heck barring telepathy on both sides Selene would take out the entire Astonishing team...in a curbstomp
