That's not a fight... that's a slaughter!

I mean COME ON!.... talk about a mismatch!

..... why would you even need Hulk or Spider-Man?... Wolverine wins this solo!

shifty

Grimm22
Spidey Wolverine and Hulk are in no way the big 3 no expression

Marvel's big 3 are Iron Man, Captain America and Spidey

Nah, doesn't Wolverine have some of the best sales? I mean, if we are just talking about the three most popular, it'd either be Wolverine, Spiderman, and the Hulk, or Wolverine, Spiderman and Captain America. No way is Iron man one of the three most popular Marvel characters.

Sales dont = big three no expression

If that was true than WW wouldnt be part of the big three

bigbran
It's obvious that Blackbolt is part of the big three.

lando005
i was going off of popularity and sales

The three most popular and easily recognizable characters from each company?

Captain America/Hulk, Spiderman, and Wolverine for Marvel.

Superman, Wonderwoman, and Batman for DC.

Grimm22
No it dosent.

The big three are the 3 most iconic figures witin the marvel universe

Yeah which means, like it or not, Wolverine is a part of that group. He's certainly a more iconic character than Iron Man.

Grimm22
Wolverine isnt iconic. Maybe to fanboys, but thats about it.

Being popular dosent make you iconic.

When asked why WW was part of the trinity instead of Flash or Green Lantern, DC replied their trinity is decided by the most iconic and the most recognizable characters to the average person. If you want to argue that Iron Man qualifies more than Wolverine, I'm not even going to bother.

agree on DC

also on the marvel 4
but if I have to choose 3 only:
Marvel trio should be Spiderman, Hulk & Wolverine.
I agree that cap should be in the top 3 but the 3 i mentioned have had more mainstream apearances than caps.

-Spiderman: 2(soon 3) spiderman movies, various cartoons, tons of toys, various video games based on him.

-Hulk: The movie, TV series, cartoon, tons of toys, Alot of heros have branched off of his character, various video games based off him.

-Wolverine: 3 Xmen movies, soon a solo movie, xmen cartoons, tons of wolvie toys, various video games based off him.

Cap- old school movie hardly anyone remebers, avengers cartoon movies, some toys, started in some video games but not based on him*
(there was 1 or2 that i think were based on him but they sucked big time, and were old school)

the top 3 are more recognizable than caps.

Thank you. What kind of character Wolverine is doesn't change the fact that he's one of the biggest characters out there. It's not like Batman is the most morally sound guy out there.

I think that Cap, Spidey and Wolverine are the big 3 for Marvel, just going by merchandising standard. I notice like Lego and Bionicle and other characters who have rights to Marvel characters usually pick those to represent over The Hulk. I mean, shit, I could even go up to Walmart now, and they got Captain America and Wolverine and Avenger shirts And then Spiderman even goes so far as to have bedsheets, pillows, luggage, etc. And no Hulk merchandise in sight now that the movie is over...except maybe a lingering Marvel Legend toy that no one wants to buy.

I was using Walmart as an example because its a major retailer most can relate withl.... With names like Lego and Bionicle carrying Capt and Spidey and Wolvie, those are in nearly every major retailer.

Creating a Marvel Trinity, Big 3 or anything that approximates the Supes, Bats, Diana trio in DC is always a FUTILE process.

DC wins.

Or a decent animated series

xmarksthespot
I don't see why Marvel hasn't produced an Iron Man animated series - it would play well considering how kids eat up mecha anime from Japan.

Scoobless
They need to get off their asses and make an Avengers cartoon that is at least as decent as the JLU series

No one in Britain knows who the f**k the Avengers are (unless they are comic geeks like me)

xmarksthespot
I'm not sure whether it's better to first establish characters with the public individually and then as a team or vice versa. You need characters that will serve as a draw to ordinary viewers, and imo none of the most prominent Avengers really even come close to the established branding of a Superman, Batman, WW or Flash.

Scoobless
I know... it sucks ... sad

They should give them small cameo appearances in the next few Marvel films.... mention them in passing in Spider-Man 3 .... maybe have Pete try to call them for help/advice... Maybe have Iron Man or Thor do a fly by....have them appear in the newer Spider-Man cartoons, Make a one off feature length X-Men/Avengers animated movie (cheap, but well written to just get them more into the public eye)

They really should have mentioned them at some point in the previous X-Men film...especially Cap

xmarksthespot
Hmm upon further thought, two Avengers do have relatively global brandname recognition Wolverine and Spider-Man. So they could use them as a launching pad. But that also means in a team show about the world's mightiest, two of the 7-10 slots and most of the airtime would be taken up by streetlevellish heroes purely for marketing purposes.

lando005
marvel may have less iconic heroes but their heroes r easily more people friendly and realistic to most people by far easier to relate to
