Is any one out there playing winter assault? What do you think of the Imperial Guard? rifle

Last years news. I'm not playing WA at the moment considering my current OS is ubuntu and I have no way of installing it especially since my brother made my file a limited user. But when the new expansion Dark Crusade comes out on Oct 9th i'm bound to reformat my hard drive without my bros consent and put in a nice copy of XP so that I can play the new expansion.

Anyways I thought the Imperial Guard were pretty damn badass. My particular favourite unit was the Kasrkin. Thier hellguns just blew me away. Every time i see multiple laser arcs coming out of thier guns I think "Eat Hellgun Xenos scum!"

I was disapointed by the IG.

I didn't know there was another new expansion coming out. It looks like it could be bad ass. Looks like a bunch more races and that one can get Grey Knights. That would be cool. I think the only good thing about the winter assault expansion is that they changed the number of units it takes to have terminators and that the servitors don't cost any pop. to have. It would have been nice to see the Tyranids in there also.. and to be able to have civilian casulaties

Theres also a metamap in single player where you have to invade territories, Risk style.

Yeah this expansion could be great. Has anyone heard if there will be a Thunder Hawk dropship is this one. It would be awesome to have Titans as well. Argh stretcher too many ideas , could go on and on and on. "got to stop these thoughts bash"

no...no titans ime afraid, their too big to fit on the DoW screen, you would just see their big feet, at the end of winter assualt though you get to use a titans weapons

I never got to play the campaign. My computer kept locking up on me.bawling I need to get a new one for the up coming expansion for sure, something with some real POWER flex

I do see your point on the Titan. But I am still convinced that a Thunder Hawk would be bad ass.

there was a video interview on the relic forums with the lead designer of the game. He wanted to add air units but he felt that would have sacrificed to much content in the game. He has however said in that in the future, he will add air units in a DOW game.

Ah yes, the Tyranid mod. It doesnt move you know. But I do remember that sync kill from a while back. That mod is shaping up quite well.

Well that bites. I think air units would have mad it really good.... Oh well maybe like you said the future ones might have them.
