Emulating a certain spike-helmeted war-hammer toting emperor, Deepground has invaded Earth.
Shinra's forgotten forces have landed in Japan, and are running amok. Hayate, Ayane and the reinstated Kasumi leads the Mugen Tenshin clan into battle with the Deepground forces.
Ryu Hayabusa, has a more difficult challenge ahead of him.
In his NES heyday, he has taken on the Demon Clan, slain the Jaquio (twice), Ashtar, destroyed the Dark Sword of Chaos and wrecked a dimensional warship.
On the Xbox, he has singlehandely taken on the Vigoor Empire and found time to win a Dead or Alive Tournament in between.
However, Weiss sees the Hayabusa super-ninja as the primary threat and sends the Tsviets on him.
A squad of Deepground Elites invade the Sacred Wilderness training grounds while Ryu is on retreat. After hacking them to pieces with his Dragon Sword, Ryu finds out who is after him through Ayane and that the Tsviets are after him.
Ryu is ready to rumble and he heads off to face Deepground's lieutenants.
