Deadline: 6pm CDT Tuesday October 10th, or 5 days from thread start.

There will be one winner in this match, and they will participate in the semi-finals. You don't need to enter if you don't want, but I don't see why you wouldn't!

Try using the smudge brush next time - set it to Natural Brushes, and pick the first one. Use it at about 30-40% strength and you can (with some work) change how the hair looks and stuff.

Nope, you can do it in any version of PS. You don't scatter smudge, just the regular smudge tool.

I do it all the time in my photomanips if I want to fix the hair of the stock model without having to repaint it.

"Natural Brushes"?

It's a default set that comes with PS.

The Natural Brush set is brushes that are basically speckle-type things. I dunno why it's called that, but whatever...

Go in your brush menu and select Replace Brushes and choose the Natural Brushes set. It's pretty simple

You did a very good job in making a simple-yet-effective sig; eveything, including the text, just fits together. I feel the render's a bit over-contrasted and too yellow, though, and it's pretty pixelated.

The transparency is awesome, and I like the color scheme. Ultimately though, I wasn't too keen on the brushing over the render - it just seems oddly out of place. Maybe if you'd done a couple layers, altering colors and blend modes, it would have fit better.

So...overall, I declare Thorinn the FFA winner, with Gannon a very close second.

...my entry was one that I immediately wanted back after I posted it. I got so wrapped up in the animation and little splashes that I ignored the rest of the sig (for the most part). So I'm proud of it and all, but I honestly didn't expect to win once I saw all the other entries.

The brushing over the render, wow, I wasn't expecting it to be that controversial...
What I wanted to do was make the white parts of the render to stand out more, and make it seem more pure. I was almost trying to give it an angellic quality.
But whatever. Congrats Thorin.
I was also a bit rushed for time, I had to go to class, if I had more time, I probably would have brushed better over the render.
