Final Fantasy II (IV in Japan) was the first RPG I ever played. This game was fun and exicitng for me playing as the Dark Knight Cecil on his quest to stop Golbez from gathering the Crystals. I enjoyed this game for many years and even played FFIV-Advance for the GBA just so I could revisit some of my favorite people and places to hang out.

Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64. It was a launch game and I got it. The first time I placed that game in and turned it on I was stunned at how great Mario was in 3D. Mario proved to be as fun in 3D as he is in 2D and I couldn't wait to see what was behind every turn.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. This game was wonderful and can't be called anything other then flawless. The temples were fun and challenging and the bosses made you think. The world was so massive that you could explore it for months and still find things to do.

Sonic Adventure for the Sega Dreamcast. This game put Sonic in full 3D for the first time where Sonic ran at high speeds through long levels facing Eggman in his biggest adventure yet. This game even had an epic final battle with Perfect Chaos as Super Sonic which made completing all 6 stories worth getting.

Resident Evil 4 for the Nintendo Gamecube. This game right here was a game you had to get if you had a Gamecube. If you didn't have a Gamecube then you had to go get one. But for some cheap b*****s it came out for the Playstation 2 to help you out.

i think OoT is too different to say its outrightly better than any of the FF's

OoT is such a classic, boy meets girl, girl gets into trouble, boy grows into man, boy saves kingdom. Roughly, anyways i know theres alot more into it which does make it an awesome game.

none of the FF's run that smoothly or simply, for example (yeah i'm using FF7) its boy meets people, people fight evil company, boy meets girl, boy rescuses girl, bad guy kills company leader, people travel after bad guy for ages, meet more people, bad guy kills girl, boy finds out his past is not his own, monster destroys evil company, people save the world

very different i think you'l agree, its a matter of taste, which is the beauty of a thread like this

Goldeneye is my all time favorite. Loved the movie but loved the game even more. I see Microsoft brought back classic Doom and enabled online play, maybe they can bring back Goldeneye 64. *Keeps fingers crossed*

Correct.... Pretty much every Zelda game features a new "Link". Which is why we see his hair change colour and shit. We learn in Wind Waker that it's a tradition to call male offspring Link.

That makes it the same? If the plot were the same it would be the same, different plots, different games, items, characters, amount of pieces of heart. Also, did you count Bottom Of The Well? If you did that puts OoT at 13 dungeons, and LttP at 12.

yeah its awesome, by todays standards on graphics and such its really out dated, but its still a kick butt game, if you've played dungion seige, Baldur's Gate or even neverwinter nights and the like you'v had a taste, diablo was the original, fighting demons, devils undead it was kick butt

you could buy it, i hear its like a fiver now

Here's some advise. It is both serious and well-intended.

I messed around with a post you made on a video game forum; there is absolutely no cause to be getting upset about this. Part of being mature (or grown up, if you prefer) is being able to take a little ribbing now and then, and as far as ribbing goes, this was pretty benign.

You know what another great game is? Beyond Good and Evil. It's a shame it didn't do better.

just some good games, i cant choose a faverite

1: Warhammer 40k dawn of War: cant say ime a mega fan of Warhammer, never got into painting the mintiures much, too impatient and required a steady hand but this blew me away, ime wriggling with excitement for Dark crusade ill get for christmas , excellent game

2: Diablo 2/Lod: a classic RPG, as most have said one of the best RPG's ever, a simple, seamless, easily adictive world, cool items that drop, a host of dark demons and such, i played for years and never got bored as all the old and some of the newer games got dusty

3: Command and conquer series: always loved C&C, gotter love orderin a group of tanks to blow the hell out of soldiers while you prepare squadrens of bombers, nukes and all the sort, Generals was still a reasonable game, hopefully C&C 3 will hold the atmopshere of the orginals however, also the new high tech game engine looks fine

4: WoW(world of warcraft): an awsome and adictive game, look past the cartoonish graphics and you have yourself an enormous world to adventure with friends, IMO it gets a little harder at the end where you have no choice really but to get into enormous 20-40 man groups and guilds with half of the people you may not like just to see end game content and gain higher items, but until that time its an awsome game in my eyes and even at the end game point you can still have some fun

5: Painkiller: not a bad game itself, i love storylines that have Demons and devils and this didnt disapoint, it had more than i can remember, also a large array of weapons, swarms of enemies and such...nice game

6: Serious sam: gotta love this, awsome game, Swarms of screaming, Hoping, Mechanical or Demonic enemies pouring their way towards you but falling as you let loose rockets, bombs, grenades, laser and minigun fire then to come across some of the biggest bosses in gaming, sure the graphics aint stunning, but it would lag as hell if they were, Serious sam 2 backed it up with better graphics and although the childish enemies in parts of the game spoilt it a little, its still an awsome game.....BUT WHERES MENTAL, hes always gone or escaping

7: Fear: love this, some of the best graphics and effects ive seen coupled with smart AI, gore, realistic weapon fire and the fun of bullet speed, awsome.....pretty creepy to, had me on the edge of my seat

8: Legacy of Kain series: an awsome game where you follow the story of Vampires, perhaps the most gripping stories and certainly one of my faverites, i play these over and over just to remember the storyline, time traveling, history changing, all sorts of vampires and villains and then watch the story all fall into place as your view on the world pans out and you realise story elements

9: Myth: an old game, Myth was another game i loved for its story, the Dark marching acorss a medieval land battling against the forces of light and trying to take over the lands of men. The Strategy of positioning your forces correctly and using your heroes wisely to defeat otherwise impossible odds, Myth games had awsome Gore acorss large battlefields and a great story

10: difficult choice, Titan Quest, Starcraft, Half life 2: Gotta say Half life 2, its a classic, mysterious story on a grand scale, always on the edge of my seat, Whos the G-man, What will happen next?, so many questions and answers embeded in a gameplay masterpiece with great graphics and tehcnology

1. Mortal Kombat ( Arcade ) - Why the arcade version? Because it was simply far superior to consoles.

2. Contra ( NES ) - Konami, how I heart thee.

3. Halo ( X-Box ) - Simply because of the graphics. I was amazed with this game when I first got my block of a system.

4. Sonic Adventure ( Dreamcast ) - Oh Sega. You left us far too soon.

5. Shenmue ( Dreamcast ) - Simply for the immersion factor, the setting, and the music.

6. Super Mario Brothers 3 ( NES ) - One of the greatest platformers of all time.

7. Resident Evil ( Playstation ) - The acting was wooden like your regular B horror film, but it still managed to scare the shit out of me.

Yeah I'll do the story about 3 times then that's it. I've never got 100% complettion but have come close, I have to do about a million cheats to get through to the end.
