PANS LABYRINTH Guillemero Del Toros latest movie which has
been given 5 star ratings in every review i have read AND has made the CANNES selection is released on Friday in the UK.
So i thought to myself.. "ok ill go see that movie on friday".
Think again Vintage because it AINT showing.
I check my local multiplex and whaddayaknow Bollywood atrocity DHOOM2 is showing on not 1..not 2...BUT 3 FRIKKIN SCREENS!!!!!!!!!!(theres a further two Bollywood flicks on show which kind of rubs salt in the wound).
Ive been here before..THE NOTORIOUS BETTIE PAGE and SLITHER were both given the bums rush in my city.I wouldnt mind if those two flicks were crap but they were both critically lauded and belonged on the big screen...im an old fashioned guy..i like to go to the cinema.
Now im not saying asian folk shouldnt be allowed a visit to the flicks but the majority of non asian people aint going to be interested in a Bollywood movie.
YET asian people get a choice of DHOOM2 or if they dont fancy Bollywood something more realistic and intelligent like say Barnyard or Over the hedge.

Now one of these flicks looks like cliched tripe whilst the other offers something truly original and visually stunning.

It makes me MAD!!

Anyone else narked by this...have any quality flicks you wanted to see been given the bums rush for cinematic crap??
Anyone a fan of the Dhoom movies??
I caught bits of the first DHOOM flik the other week on tv
I hear the first was a copy of TORQUE which was a pile of crap as well.
I still cant get over how crap that DHOOM trailer is...you cant fake cool Its so fu***** lame.
Hot asian chicks tho!

They made a Dhoom II... I watched the first when it was shown on television too, it was okay, nothing I would watch again.

But to show that over Pans... tut tut.

That Dhoom II seems to have added in a bit of Mission Imposibble II...

I watched Elaan a few days ago and they used loads of music done by other American composers and the Matrix II music was used. No credit to the composers in the end credits of Elaan...

And so Pans Labyrinth will make less money and itll be another nail in the coffin for the genre............and quality movies.
