And Cannonball did not really knock out Gladiator there, did he?No, some other X-Men arrive, Gladiator gets up and tells them the Shi'ar empire needs their help, and they get teleported away.

Goddamnit, you people need to read some Namor comics.
It is an urban comic myth that Namor always goes charging headfirst into situations. He hasn't done that since he was 20. He's 86 years old, and VERY smart. In fact if you read the Respect Thread, you see that in 90% of the time it is the OTHER heroes who start fighting, not Namor.
If one punch accomplishes nothing, Namor isn't defenitely just going to keep punching like a dumbass. During his old series nearly all his enemies could not be beat by punching, so he had to find some other way to beat them.86 years young and still going strong.
Physical force isn't going to work on Cannonball if he basically just stands around and maintains his blast field. So Namor will have to find another way to win.

And Cannonball is cool and all, but Namor will defenitely have the aerial superiorty here. He has spent a fricking century perfecting his flight. Hmm, I'm not entirely sure of this. I don't recall Namor doing anything with his flight that Cannonball couldn't off the top of my head. Cannonball has shown very good manoeuvrability in the air in the past. (Are there any particular feats of Namor's aerial flight manoeuvrability that put Cannonball's flight to shame?)

Oh, can Cannonball be grabbed when he is blasting? He controls the extent of his blast field so even if grabbed he'd remain invulnerable iirc. Wikipedia says he can use the blast field to imprison people but I don't recall instances of this off the top of my head.
Still undecided.
