1 On brige near water

2 Dry land next to X mansion

As long as Cannonball keeps blasting, Namor shouldn't be able to hurt him. But I don't know whether Cannonball can match Namor in speed.

Lucid Lui
Sam would put up a good fight. Namor wins out in the end though.

This'd be a fight i'd like to see someday.

Just adding this to the mix...

Namor. Cannonball is relatively invulnerable while he's blasting...but he still needs to breath.

Namor drowns him....

Namor drowns him.... He drowns him on dry land? huh

I can see that being a viable option, but it would require that Namor get Cannonball into the water in scenario 1.

Xavier is a poshy bastard. He has to have a big-ass water fountain nearby or a swimming pool.

Especially now that Emma's running the school....

I don't find that too difficult. Cannonball's is invulnerable but he's not nearly as strong as Namor. Also Namor can just stay in the water and wait for the dumb hick to charge into the sea....

masterbruce
If Cannonball fights to his potential, he leaves a crippled Namor to die on the beach.

HandOfFate

Omega-level
1- Namor
2- Stalemate

Namor cannot drown Sam while he is blasting, it is a force field

snoopdogg
Well if Sam can pull a stalemate with Gladiator I can he can put down Sub-Mariner. Not all but I think he can pull a majority.

It didn't look like a stalemate to me...

It's a permeable forcefield that allows him to breathe at accelerated speeds....however he still needs to breathe.

That's how he's been taken out by gases or the vacuum of space.

Or Cannonball could just stay on land and wait for Namor, I'd say he's relatively patient. Sam's a countryboy but he's not an idiot. Ma Guthrie done taught him right. Frankly Namor's probably more likely to go charging into a situation...

Most likely...but he'll hightail it to water if he's losing....which is what he did with Thor.

Ma Gurthie homeschooled the dumb hick.

After all, Sam Gurthie's tryin' ta teach them youngins at Xavier's about Intellurgent Dezign!

That was my thinking.

By the looks of it, it was pretty toe-to-toe, even match until the end, when Cannonball pulled through for the apparent finishing blow.

Sam can absorb Namor's blows and make his attacks stronger smile

Goddamnit, you people need to read some Namor comics. stick out tongue It is an urban comic myth that Namor always goes charging headfirst into situations. He hasn't done that since he was 20. He's 86 years old, and VERY smart. In fact if you read the Respect Thread, you see that in 90% of the time it is the OTHER heroes who start fighting, not Namor.

If one punch accomplishes nothing, Namor isn't defenitely just going to keep punching like a dumbass. During his old series nearly all his enemies could not be beat by punching, so he had to find some other way to beat them.

And Cannonball is cool and all, but Namor will defenitely have the aerial superiorty here. He has spent a fricking century perfecting his flight.

And Cannonball did not really knock out Gladiator there, did he?

Oh, can Cannonball be grabbed when he is blasting?

Physical force isn't going to work on Cannonball if he basically just stands around and maintains his blast field. So Namor will have to find another way to win.

I don't recall Namor doing anything with his flight that Cannonball couldn't off the top of my head. Cannonball has shown very good manoeuvrability in the air in the past. (Are there any particular feats of Namor's aerial flight manoeuvrability that put Cannonball's flight to shame?)

Oh, can Cannonball be grabbed when he is blasting? He controls the extent of his blast field so even if grabbed he'd remain invulnerable iirc. Wikipedia says he can use the blast field to imprison people but I don't recall instances of this off the top of my head.

Still undecided.

DarkCrawler
Hmm, okay.

Hard to say about the flight feats, I have read only a few Cannonball comics...but usually I only see Cannonball blasting straight and knocking everything out of the way...
