How do you think an Adamantium/Vibranium shield is going to stand up to Vulcan. Will he be the one to break the bonds.

Only things to actually break the shield (to my memory) are the Infinity Gauntlet and the Odin force.

Both of which are FAR beyond the scope of Vulcan's power.

So, Captain America is eradicated, but the Shield comes out totally unscathed.
