Major Snafu
The Millenium Tournament, Osaka.
Sagat has waited for this day for many years after Ryu, in a Dark Hadou outburst, scarred him for life.
He had beaten Ryu once, but Ryu simply held back, knowing that hatred can take a person so far, thus cheating Sagat out of his victory.
He returns to Thailand to resume his training, until he receives an invitation: a martial arts tournament, hosted by the Masters Foundation and the Garcia Concern.
Knowing full well that Ryu will be there, Sagat accepts the invite.
Meanwhile, Ryu is at Suzaku Castle, having returned to Japan from Brazil. Ken finds him and personally delivers the invitation, saying that Sagat will be there.
Ryu accepts the invitation, preparing himself for the fight of his life.
Both Ryu and Sagat go through their opponents in the Millenium Tournament, until they meet in the semi-finals, inside the Osaka stadium. Sagat fighting with a clear mind and Ryu with honed techniques, perfected form years of fighting.
Both men stare each other down (in Sagat's case, literally).
"Today is the day, Ryu," Sagat intones. "Are you ready for the fight of your life?"
"I was born ready," Ryu replies.
With the other contestants watching, the battle-hardened Ansatsuken warrior and the Muay Thai Emperor go into their stances.
"This will be a match to remember!" the announcer cried. "FIGHT!"
