Reality Tv is the shittiest, boring and overall most dull form of entertainment out currently. Yet stations continue to create clone after clone, ripoff after ripoff.

Let's break things down a little shall we.

There are three types of your average Reality TV :

1. Survivor Clone - Forcing a group of people into a pre-bronze environment to watch them squabble amongst themselves, while they are given inane tasks that hinge upon their 'survival'. Expect whining, egotistical bastards and unfunny attempts at eating the wildlife/creating fire.

2. Singing shows - Of course Skanky McRedneck can sing ! Isn't it blatantly obvious from her waily shrieking tones and huge amount of retarded fan votes ? Let's not forget the various groups with their Cut & Paste sound stylings and stage names.

Also expect leering judges, varying amounts of scamming from the whole 'competition' in general and the all encroaching stench of failure from the thousands of contestants who get their pathetic little dreams crushed under the boot of Simon Cowell. Who (contrary to popular belief) isn't funny nor insulting. I've seen Middle schoolers come back with better insults then he has.

3. Crazy Shack - Quite possibly the worse, a more urban variation of of the 'Survivor Clone'. This one seems to have some kind of hypnotic ability implanted within it ; enrapturing all whom witness it's disturbing contents.

No penny is spared to round up the greatest freaks, losers and all around sad pieces of shit to sit within this 'house'. They then involve themselves in bitchy cat-fights, poor attempts at racism (which bring up stupidly high responses) and extremely bad attempts at soft-core pornography.

Now can SOMEONE, give me a damn good reason why these things are so bloody revered ? Hell if ANYONE can give me a good reason I'll give 'em a medal !!!

For participants "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes." Warhol. Like pop music before it, it offers a route out of poverty for those with no noticable talent. Jade Goody is a prime example of this, she didn't even win big brother but was memorable as a Miss Piggy type figue. She was seen as marketable, groomed and made a fortune. It even entertains people when it all goes pear shaped like her. The old adage "people are only built up to be knocked down".

For viewers some people enjoy watching individuals be vile to each other.

For the companies making this horseshit it's easy money.

The same reason soap operas, The Enquirer, and your everyday Betty Sue McGossip have been around for decades and aren't going anywhere...ever.

asking this question is like asking what the point to t.v is.

Every television show on television is a clone of something. I think there are some good reality t.v shows. Some of my favorite used to be maximum exposure, COPS, ripleys believe it or not and nearly every show on discovery channel.

There is no such thing as Reality TV. All those shows you see are either edited, censor, acted, and occasionally staged to make it look real.

The closest thing to Reality TV are the evening news.

Imo, Reality T.V. does suck but I really like the ones that show shoot outs and cop chases, it's action packed. The Maury show is good too.

I think reality T.V. keeps popping up because people are drawn to the fact that some of that stuff may never happen to them yet it's real or some of that stuff happens in every day life and it's nice to see some one else going threw it...on national television. Although, we all know that most of that stuff is as fake as a 3 dollar bill.

I think people just like seeing other people in awkward situations or in rock bottom.

Yes, yes. The biggest clue for me was when reality TV writers threatened to go on strike a few years back.

no the new one on fox is. that movie director crap. Why does hollywood try to flood an already flooded market? by inspiring millions of people to become filmakers. its a family thing, friend thing, and money thing

I think the best of the worst was americas got talent, next american inventors, and 30 seconds of fame on fox. Damn you could see the devil in the deeds on every one of those shows

Anyone seen I love New York? All these guys are doing outrageous things for a woman who looks like a man. It's stupid.

The point is simple, to entertain stupid people.

If you don't like it, don't watch it simple as that. Why bother moaning about it? Is changing a channel too much effort for you people? The point of reality T.V shows is that people watch them, you must have been some of those people to have seen enough to moan about.

Cheers to your willingness to admit to it openly. I hear so many people bashing "reality" TV, but someone is watching this crap; otherwise it wouldn't be on the television.

It's popular to dis reality TV...but I think so people who do so aren't being totally honest.

Over here, regardless of how much you distance yourself, you always end up knowing something about the latest Big Brother, somehow.

Eg: If I avoid it on TV, in the papers and everywhere else, I come online and see a thread on it.

Whats the point of any tv show? People watch it so they keep making more shows.
