If they remade it then could it be improved and made into a good Bond film and be successful unlike the one in 1969? And my keyboard isn't working very well so excuse the spelling mistakes

spidermanweb1
It will never be remade because it was already made.

Superguy
The Bond franchise seriously needed Casino Royale... they should make this a total restart and I wouldn't mind remaking a few of the films... not Goldfinger though! wink

Hey guys. In response to the suggestion that some of the old Bond films should be re-made, I should point out that the producer of the Bond films, Barbara Broccoli, has confirmed that future instalments of the James Bond franchise will not be remakes. Besides which, I personally think that it's a bad idea; even though some of the series' entries have been less than stellar, I feel that part of the strength of the Bond series is the fact that it moves forward with the times - going backwards would be a step in the wrong direction, IMHO ...

Count Makashi
The movie was incredibly bad in the first place, it doesn't deserve to be remade and don't they usually remade great movies.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is not a bad film. In fact I think it is very good. Mind you my opinion has changed with age!!

Ahnold
The same is true for a lot of people I know when it comes to this film (i.e. their opinion of it changing with age). If I'm being honest, simply because it's quite downbeat (especially the ending of course), I've always kind of kept the film at arm's length, and for that reason it's the Bond film that I've watched the least; but I've been feeling for a while now that the time is right for a re-evaluation ...

I think you should re-evaluate it, you might be surprised!

OHMSS is a masterpiece......btw it's a myth it flopped :

#2 at US box office 1969 behind "Butch Sundance"

Yes , it grossed less than TB or YOLT but still made respectable biz.

The 70s would been waaay different had Lazenby continued.......

I have watched all the Bond Films, and mind you none of them are bad. James Bond is a special character and every hero chosen to portray the role is selected after a thorough analysis of the image of the spy. It is only when you compare a bond film with another or when you compare two actors who have played James Bond that you come up with the quote that "The Film is Bad". "On her Majesty's Secret Service" wasn't bad at all....and why remaking bond films...they should never be remade, instead the franchise should be carried ahead. "Quantum of Solace" is already on the verge of release and will hit the theaters soon...it's high time we discussed that.

MildPossession
No, it doesn't need a remake, stupid idea.

Jovan
dude, if you write none of the bond films are bad, you clearly haven't seen them all! Even if you gag on Roger Moore, everybody knows Moonraker sucks huge balls.

You are quite right. OHMSS is a masterpiece. It is easily one of my favourite Bond films. It is also a myth that the producers wanted to get rid of Lazenby quickly. He was actually offered a three or four picture deal. Unfortunately he thought that the Bond franchise was going to come to an end as he viewed Bond as a dinosaur!

Mr Parker
definetely.it is easily by far the worst most boring Bond movie ever.hands down no contest.

Camden
No it was an awful mistep for the series.

Mr Parker
yeah it was the worst bond film ever exceet for maybe die another day.

good point.this movie was so incredibly bad might as well especially since they remake great films as well. roll eyes (sarcastic) a remake couldnt possibly be any worse than the original with lazenby was.

Wanderer11
OHMSS is by far one of the best in the series. The film works on every level.

The fact that you think this movie was incredibly bad just shows that you know nothing about the Bond franchise.
