Major Snafu
Iori has his own reasons in sending Ryu to a hopital in a body cast.

Mainly because Ryu's Dark Hadou was strong enough to counter Iori's Blood Riot (and sent Iori to the hospital after being beaten senseless, which concluded with a Metsu Hadouken)

While recovering with Kyo, both he and Iori decide to form a temporary alliance to finally stop the Ansatsuken warrior. But first, they have to recover from their injuries.

Several months later, at Suzaku Castle/Ansatsuken Dojo, Sagat and Ryu are preparing for their much-anticipated rematch.

Sagat had long forgiven Ryu for scarring him all those years earlier, thus ending their blood feud.

Before the fight can take place, Benimaru Nikaido and Goro Daimon, who sends word that both Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami are looking for a rematch with him.

Knowing full well that he would not stand a chance (and he's not that reckless), Ryu asks Sagat for assistance. The Muay Thai Emperor agrees, saying that those two woun't ruin his chances of righting Ryu once again.

When Ryu arrives at the designated fighting site (in his Champ. Edition gi, since the white one was in the wash, but still have his red headband), Kyo and Iori think to themselves that they both have Ryu where they want him.

Instead, Ryu introduces his partner. The seven-foot Thai looks down on his opponents.

"I think the odds are even now," Ryu says as he tightens his belt. "Allow me to introduce to you the Emperor of Muay Thai, Sagat."

Iori is not impressed. "Bah. The Emperor is about to get dethroned!"

Round One is the fighters in their SvC Chaos incarnations while Round Two is in their Capcom vs SNK 2 versions.

This is actually a pretty good fight. IMO Sagat gives the Street Fighters a slight edge over the flame users. Ryu and Sagat 6/6.5 out of 10

King Nothing
Both versions of the Capcom characters suck, Kyo and Iori for the win.
