I'd much rather have this in the History Forum, but because it got closed, this is my only option. So I'll make it apply to the Movie Forum's rules.

I wanna imagine a sword fight that takes place in an expansive desert between 300's Xerxes and Kingdom of Heaven's Saladin. Xerxes is armed with a shamshir, which is a single-edged Persian curved sword with a twin-pronged forked tip. Saladin is armed with an Ibn Saud which is the sword that appears on the Saudi flag. This is either to the death or until one of them yields.

I'm giving them option to yield, because both of these ancient Middle Eastern rulers were known for their unlimited mercy for any opponent that surrendered to them. Something that was unheard of among their contemporaries.

In real-life: I say Xerxes wins. Movies versions: Saladin.

Xerxes for the win. yes

Xerxes was supposed to be a huge in the movie, but I don't think he could fight worth a crap because he was a posh pampered "god".

In both real life and in the movies, Saladin.

Dark-Jaxx
Xerxes was like, really, really big and muscular, but he didn't fight at all and was more effeminate than my ex-girlfriend.

In the movies, Saladin.

Placidity
Xerxes was a homo.

Still a warrior though.

In real life, Xerxes had a robe, a beard, a sword at his hip, and wasn't 10 feet tall. He would've looked clsoer to how Saladin did in the movie.

That reminded me of Jabba's line in Jedi to Leia: "In time, you will learn to appreciate me".
