awesome!! i can't wait!

I'm looking forward to this. I'll be curious to see how Sandler fits in with the usual Apatow crowd. Also, I typically enjoy the films that Apatow himself writes and directs (like Knocked Up). I'll be there!

Going to see this soon, seeing as how it's out. It's recieved a ton of mixed reviews, both from critics and filmgoers alike, which just makes me more interested.

Anyone seen it? What did you think?

I saw it and I was dissapointed.

Adam Sandler can not act worth a shit.

Movie was alright, nothing particularly special.

I was glad to see Sandler not being his usual 'I'm a lovable dope, but I'll scream and kick your ass' character. His comedic high-pitched voices do get annoying very, very quick though.

Not a movie I'd watch again.

Okay so I saw this last night and I have very mixed feelings.

There were aspects that I really liked. I liked getting a glimpse of what the world of stand-up is like and I laughed consistently enough. The acting was fine, Sandler is NOT a bad actor. I also very much enjoyed the parallels between Sandler and his character George Simmons, ie they both make wacky, dumb, bad movies and get paid a lot of money doing it. I felt that that made the role fit Adam Sandler like a glove.

Rogen is likable, as is Jonah Hill and to a slightly lesser extent Jason Schwartzman.

I thought the first hour or so of the film was pretty great, but like many have said, this really does feel like two movies crammed together. I didn't think the romance was all that believable, nor the situations that ensued because of the romance. The dick and ball and fart jokes started to wear a bit thin with the 2 hour plus running time. Aubrey Plaza's character could've been completely removed, which would've improved the film a bit.

I guess my biggest gripe would be the fact that Sandler's character doesn't change enough. He's an ******* at the beginning of the film and pretty much an ******* at the end. When he thinks he's dying, I started to be much more sympathetic and for a while, I stayed that way, because I can definitely understand why a lonely lonely person would be a dick if they thought they weren't gonna be around much longer. But after he finds out he's not going to die, he still treats Rogen's character Ira like shit non-stop. It was just kind of irritating.

Anyway, I'm on the fence about this one. I felt like there was a missed opportunity to delve into George Simmons' fear and loneliness, due to the life he's created for himself and unexpectedly facing death. The third act was also kind of a mess.

Right now I'd probably give it a 6.5, maybe 7 out of 10. There are things to gain from the movie and I did like it. But the film, and myself, had problems.

I think I am going to see this movie on Thursday. Its been out for a while but I aint been to the cinema in a long time.

I dont know what to think of it, by the looks of the trailer it seems to be a little bit of comedy workin in with alot of drama. Does Adam Sandler pull off the role good enough?
or is it a case of all the good parts have been put onto the trailer and the rest of the movie is a snoozefest?

This movie bored me. I was expecting a comedy, not a drama with a few attempts at humor. I say this with respect because i do like Apatow and his crew but this movie felt flat and unconfident to me. I also realized that i've had enough of Adam Sandler. I never need to watch another one again.

Sandlers movie seem to all be the same sort o theme. But with Click, I was blown away, i loved that movie.

talked to another friend and his brother tonight about this movie, they said it was a 2hour+ waste of time.
So I might try and give it a miss.

wow there are seriously a lack of above average movies out just now.

Yeah, i loved, Punch Drunk Love and Click. Even though i hated the movie i even liked his character in, Now pronounce you chuck and larry. His character in that movie felt like a mature Happy Gilmore. I don't know what it is though, most of his movies just feel like a re-hashing of the last.

Yeah, you're better off waiting for this movie to hit dvd. It's not exactly a bad movie it just feels long and empty. Go see Inglorious bastards instead

his character in Chuck & Larry was lame, I hated it when he had woman left right and centre all frolickin about in his room. Not cool.
at least in Billy Madison he chased his teacher for ages.

I also had mixed feelings. It was well acted and funny for the most part, but it was dragged out too much. Then again, the movie implies that it's not so much of a comedy as much of a drama about funny people. In that respect, the character development was good but not great.
