Mel Gibson's new film...

anyone see??

xJLxKing
I was going to watch it tonight, but someone had to get a rain check glare

The previews look nice.

MildPossession
It's a film remake of an original British television series that was suppose to be rather good, didn't see it myself. Film looks nothing special.

it isn't a bad film..

MP, do you know how I can watch the tv series?

MildPossession
Apparently it's out there in America on DVD, so you could rent it.

Spartan005
Just a warning, from what i've read the movie is 95% drama and 5% action for all you Taken fans out there.

Kazenji
Been getting alot of good reviews from what i've seen.

dadudemon
The preview I watched of the film made me want to see it. One of my favorite movie types is the "revenge" type.

The premise of the film is Mel Gibson's daughter is killed and Gibson's character is a police officer. At least, that's what I got from the preview. Apparently, the "bad guys" are ultra connected or something and it makes for a complicated revenge plot. A must see for me, baby.

Yeah, i was going to go watch it, but then i realized that i already saw this movie two years ago with Liam Neeson. It was called..,Taken. Mad Mel is a lil late to the party. I'm sure it's good. I still love the guy.

Besides, Hasn't Mel already treaded these waters with, Ransom?

Mr. Rhythmic
I'm sure as hell seeing it. Looks like a fun Saturday afternoon flick.

Quincy
Believe it or not, I'm actually in this movie. They shot alot of it in Mass. Mel Gibson is a tiny dude.

The Nuul
Pictures? what part?

Edit. Spam.

BackFire
Movie was ok. Fairly generic stuff. Gibson is always fun to watch in such a role, though.

Cool. Seems like a renter, then.

How was his Boston accent?

Can't stand when actors that can't do one, try (eg Kevin Costner), as it sounds more annoying than most other poorly mimicked accents.

BackFire
I've heard worse. Boston accents in movies are always pretty watered down, otherwise they would be sometimes tough to understand.

torontops

Saw this the other night... it was pretty bad.

Tired-Hiker
Poor Mel. Twas supposed to be his big 'comeback' movie. Oh well. I guess we'll have to wait and see when Mad Max 4 comes out if he still has it.

Ushgarak
Holy crap, they remade Edge of Darkness??!!

The original series was fantastic, though at a glacial pace for modern audiences.

They can't have kept most of the plot; it was too complex.

Also the original plot was about the UK with the US getting involved. I cannot see the same situation working in reverse due to the precise nature of the relationship between the two- though I note that this one has Ray Winston as a Brit in the US, where the original had Joe Don Baker as a Yank in the UK.

Ushgarak
Oh man! I just checked the synopsis and they gave it a Hollywood ending! Noooooooooooooooooooo!

Other then the spoiler issue, it would involve explaining rather a lot.

I suspect the film has cut out the bit about the flowers and the Gaia hypothesis too. I note the film is about nuclear weapons, which I suppose makes it more direct. The original was about nuclear production of any sort, and the very complicated chain of interests created between the US and the UK.

Live film is out, there's talk of it being made as an animation, with Mel supplying the voice to the character.

is the original probably something that should not have been remade?

Tired-Hiker
Yeah, I read up on Mad Max 4. Mel won't be involved. Looks like a bunch of no namers in a movie that will be partial CG and partila real life. It'll take place 3 years after Thunderdome.

Going to suck ass....

Mr. Rhythmic
Saw it and enjoyed it. Gibson was good in it, and I enjoyed the dialogue. It wasn't amazing, but it was a fun ride.

The Nuul
Just saw this... It wasnt bad, kinda typical and lacks good action but still not bad.

For those like me that was expecting Mel to pull off a Dirty Harry/Harry Brown type character...forget it! it doesnt happen or at least not very well.

roughrider
Amusing, animated review for it on Spill. big grin

K.Diddy
thumb down This movie left me very disappointed,I am quite surprised it got good reviews from the critics,I was expecting big things, what I got was a movie that was just overcomplicated and overlong,I found it way to ''political'' and just way too complicated for the sort of movie it was.I found myself bored, and waiting for it to finish, there was a couple of good scenes here and there, but mostly this movie was lame, seriously.

residentevil3D
its a remake of the UK tele series... i have watched it when i was in UK

Mr Parker
oh I will.been wanting to see it a long time.Looks really exciting from the trailers. It wasnt in the theaters for very long so never had the chance to see it there like I wanted to.it wont be too long before I see it and post here about it. smile

Mr Parker
finally saw this film for the first time.one of the better movies of the year even though it was predicatable, they gave away too much with the trailer.had some good action scenes in it and was very intense.

Patient_Leech
I saw this a few months ago and rather liked it. Simple, but good. I like a good conspiracy film.

jackhak
I am going to watch it

jorgea
I'm not so crazy about drama movies. That's not my cup of tea.
