As a fan of ancient Near-Eastern lore, I thought The Wishmaster was a good depiction of the Djinn (which is where the word "Genie" comes from).

And since the Mask is a mortal, he loses.

If someone made a wish to destroy The Mask.

It would be interesting. The Djinn would just attack the mask at daytime.
