This better not suck

Talk about de ja vu...the plot consisting of Ghost Rider being recruited by a secret sect of the church to rescue a child...sounds exactly like one of the proposed story lines for the next Rambo movie, I read several years ago.

It involved Rambo being hired to go up against a Satanic cult & rescue some children.

Kazenji
The special effects for the flames around the Ghost Rider look alot better

still want to see what they're going for the character Blackout since i read he's going to be different

overall looking foward to it.

Is this a sequel or a reboot?

It's gonna have Christopher Lambert in it! eek!

Action scenes look freakin AWESOME.

If they wanted a reboot I doubt they'd invite Nick Cage back, never heard of a reboot where they used the same main actor from the previous movie installments

its a bit of both.. the first made enough money for a sequel, but this one here introduces us to Zarathos and it gives up hopefully a better origin..

saw the trailer again right before Conan the Barbarian came on and it played much much better

Kazenji
So Ghost Rider piss's flames?........i guess he shits out magma.

Mairuzu
Looks a lot better than the last from the trailer

The 2 directors sound like complete retards...Who the **** gives these people money to throw at films?

Some genuinely extremely talented people get passed over for money in order to fund shite like this...Absolute travesty.

Well they might not be to your liking, but these 2 directors have quite the fan base.

Their laidback but hardcore approach to film making is refreshing to watch & not as predictable as most Hollywood action movies these days.

Some of the most unique camera angles have been used in both Crank movies.

Looks retarded.

Gamer was shit, Crank was shit, Crank 2 was shit...That's what they all have in common. Trying weird camera angles in an attempt to look original just made them look like they were trying to be Guy Richie or Tarantino. It didn't work.

These movies are for the kind of idiots that model themselves on Jersey Shore.

Haha..

This does look awful. It would definitely be fun to see drunk with friends, though. The other recent Nick Cage movie... Drive Angry, was a fun drinking movie. Nick Cage is godawful!

All Nick Cage movies are drinking games, because that's the only way you can get through them.

People shouldn't judge it and just enjoy the ride.
It's freakin Ghost Rider! And Cage is giving it better shot. I say **** yeah.

Cage's character is like Ghost-Rider Lite.

Okay, so Nic Cage finally acts his age in that home-heist movie with Nicole Kidman, and then he heads back to the comic book store.

I think they'd be better if the "Rider" were actually thirty-something, instead. Much, much less to do in makeup, especially with false hair. Cage is on my official list as one of the worst comb-overs using fake hair.

Tom Hanks from "The Da Vinci Code" is #1.

I heard a rumour that his interviewers are not allowed to talk about or even look at his hairline. I mean, he's not exactly making it easy with all the styles he's come out with recently. Should have just gone the Bruce Willis way and just let it go and nothing would be said about it.

I think Cage has some serious tax debts he needs to pay off...

I mean Wesley sure could hunt down them vampires but evade the IRS...no way!

Film will suck, though it'll be hard pressed to suck harder than that atrocity of Ghost Rider.

At least the motorcycle looks better than the idiotic giant-chrome-skull and shiny-bits nonsense the first film had.

Yeah will i'm a Ghost Rider fan, got most of the comics i'll be checking out this sequel hopefully i'm not as disapointed as i was with the first one.

The burned/ashen look of GR and the cycle is a huge improvement, visually.

Just realized it has Christopher Lambert in it, so it has to be good.

Kazenji
Hope we get to see some actual demon with a demonic look for the villains

bullshit with the first movie, For Mephisto how they did'nt go what he looks like in my avy and sig and just went with some human form.

marwash22
looks a lot better than the first movie, but that's not really saying much.

majid86
The special effects are so much better than the 2007 version and the hell bike itself looks better than the chopper used in the first film.

It looks like a normal Harley on fire but im a bit dissapointed that they used Johhny Blaze again because i wanted to see a reboot with Danny Ketch starring in it not his brother.

I think Danny maybe may have a cameo or something not an actual part in the new movie.

Danny also had the coolest hellbike ever!

At least they have Neveldine/Taylor behind the camera this time, and not Mark F**king Steven Johnson.

either way it looks like a good movie. So many new movies have learned that staying with the same director is not good. I guess because they lose the vision.

I'm sorry, but the new Ghost Rider pretty much looks like shit. The first one was terrible as well and although I was a fan of the first 'Crank' film, I did not like the 2nd one nor 'Gamer' (which was all directed by the duo who are doing the new Ghost Rider).

Very sad, such a wasted opportunity. 'Ghost Rider' has the potential to be something really special.

QFT. Not to mention the 3D sucks bollocks because there's no 3D. All the glasses did was get rid of the blur. Not one thing came out of the screen. "But Nemesis, why didn't you just pay for the standard definition?" Because there wasn't an option. There was only the "3D" version. What complete bull****! So not only did I spend extra against my will for nothing but the movie is horrible to boot, making the first Ghost Rider look like movie of the year (although to be fair, the first was pretty decent). You suck, Neveldine and Taylor. How you replaced the people who made the first one is beyond me.

. That statement is VERY apperant when you watch the movie.

And "Danny" is in the movie. He is the little Kid GR has to save.

The movie had some good action in it but I don't recomend it worth being seen more then twice in a lifetime, and it sure as hell aint gonna be put on my "Buy List" EVER!

That would be KICK ASS!

Kazenji
I'm still gonna see the movie come March.

Well like or hate Cage's acting ability or whether he does justice to Ghost Rider...At least this time he actually gets to portray & act as Ghost Rider rather than a stunt double (doing the Ghost Rider scenes) as in the 1st movie.

Acting and story mostly, just crap. The action-scenes varied, a few were alright or parts there of. Camera was a lot of super-tight shots and then long ones a moment later and then back, didn't care for that too much.

One thing that confused me, he walks in the sunlight, wasn't that his weakness in the first film?

The visual of GR was vastly improved, imo. I did like this burned/charred and smoking grittier version over the first films shiny leather with bright steel and a clean looking skull.

Then it's clear that the Director lost this fight or didn't even have passion to instigate the fight in the first place. There was no story. The music was awful and the acting was atrocious. I really don't know what happened to cage in this movie, maybe the Director just said...,do what you want because it was bad.His performance in the first one was ok, i thought the darker approach would allow him to take this character to new heights but he didn't. Please people save your time and money. Pirate this turd or borrow it off a friend whom rented it. What ever you do...,do NOT SUPPORT this tripe.

The upside might be Columbia finally gives up on this, and the property eventually comes under the Marvel Studios banner, for a future effort sans Cage.

I think if another Daredevil movie doesn't start production this year, they will get that back too.

Do the studios have a 'use-it-or-loseit' clause in their contract?

This is why the clown-shoe 1994 Fantastic Four film was made, solely to retain rights.

Flyattractor
Isnt' the "Retain the Rights" clause the reason this GR film, and The upcoming Spidey films were made?

Yes, it's true. Sony/Columbia had a ticking clock on this. You'd have to look at the fine print of contracts to see how long in between films that rights to a property come due. Only five years elapsed between Hulk and Marvel Studios' The Incredible Hulk; after Punisher: War Zone bombed in 2008, it was announced the very next year Marvel Studios had the screen rights back.

It would've cost Hollywood millions just to buy the rights back once it expired.

Not quite. Warner Bros. is the parent company of DC comics; has been for decades now. It's why virtually every DC film is distributed by them (except in rare circumstances, when they sold off the screen rights to Swamp Thing in the early 80's, which they very much regretted.) The current Superman film got put into production because of them losing the copyright to the Siegel & Shuster estate, and them getting everything back unless the movie got greenlit by a certain date.

I just came back from watching it in theaters, in my opinion it was thee worst movie I've seen as of recent.... Talk about divine intervention, close to the ending of the movie this guy in the theater falls down and starts having a seizures. This movie, for me, fell in to the "so bad it's good" category. The 3d was well-executed, and I laughed a lot, even when I wasn't supposed to.

Ghost Rider fans be pissed, though.

How did you get more out of the sequel than the first? At least the first had more activity and characters people would actually like. The ones in the sequel were a mother on crack, the one son of the devil who makes me miss Wes Bently's Blackheart, some guy played by Idris Elba who is perhaps the most (and only) likeable fellow in the movie, a silly version of Blackout who was no different than Blackhearts henchmen in the first movie, the Devil who is lacking Peter Fonda (seriously, where is he), and a more hyped up-but-still-emo version of Nicholas Cage that you just want to smack when the drugs he takes kick in and nearly ruin the film entirely. Not to mention as cheesy as the first movie's script was, at least it was decent and didn't leave a lot of plot holes and PIS behind unlike the sequel and while some parts in the first movie were dragged, they were dragged even longer in SoV that gave me enough time to go to the restroom and still see the darn scene dragged when I came back and then I'm like "oh for the love of...!" Also, the ending in the first was better. The sequel's did not make sense and the final battle was lazy. "How do you beat the Devil? Throw him in a hole."

Blackheart was bad but better than watching that annoying brat. You didn't think I was referring he was bad?

If Ghost Rider's special effects are what exceed the movie budget, the people making these movies should really not be making them because really, as much as I love to see Ghost Rider making thugs urinate themselves, I want to see Mephisto or Blackheart let go of their human forms and start kicking ass. And if they can't get Mephisto out of human form, they should've at least brought back Peter Fonda. I thought he did good. Instead, he gets replaced by an actor who looks he could make children cry "I need an adult!"

Yeah I had a feeling the newbies who made the sequel hardly watched the first if they didn't know exactly how Johnny signed the contract and other things that seemed out of place in those flashbacks. Also, whatever happened to Roxanne? So what, did Johnny Blaze pull a James Bond and forget about his former love interest and go for another with no reason whatsoever? Maybe the reason why he drinks now is because he accidentally burned her alive after she jumped his bones one night.

well I watched this movie in 3D, I should have watched it 2D..lol The special effects weren't really that great, there weren't any good scenes where the 3d actually worked, except when he was riding the truck on fire. The movie it self lacked consistancy, starting with the camera lenses which would change when the characters would go into their own thoughts. The background settings would change also at random and you could never feel grounded to a scene, there was no real focus on the characters, which the first one offered there for you had to follow the story which was given to you.

I do not blame the actors for this bad movie; this bad movie was based on the experimental aspect to the film.

the ninjak
Saw it today and really enjoyed it. I agree that some of the wobble cam was jarring throughout the first ten mins but the story was fast. The acting was fine and GR himself looked great.
I understand how alot of people watch films these days, once the word gets out that a film was received badly people get on the hate train. And anyone who disagrees gets run over. But I genuinely enjoyed myself.

Nemesis X
Ghost Rider does look more awesome than he was in the first movie but that still doesn't give this movie any justice and what makes you think I hate this movie just by hearing it was bad? Last I checked, I watched the darn thing and from that experience, I can fairly say it sucked. Scenes were dragged for too long, the actors did their jobs poorly except maybe Idris Elba, there was a bunch of PIS, the movie had humor in it that just wasn't funny (who watches GR for comedy? Honestly), Blackout sucked, and whoever wrote the script was just plain lazy.

I didn't care so much in the first one that Mephisto and Blackheart stayed in their human forms, with just occasional glimpses of the demon below the surface. Peter Fonda was one of the best things about the movie, anyway. But they did throw away money on VFX that wasn't necessary, like Ghost Rider melting everything in the street just by riding through it. I mean, who cares? Just leave a flaming trail from the wheels and that's it. That kind of property damage done by a hero just going by would annoy me, done repeatedly.
