The Avengers have been sent to retrieve Astro Boy to gain his tech can they do it?
location: big apple of course.
marwash22
only saw Astro boy once and didn't really pay attention, but at one point, didn't he carry a giant island or something like that?
0mega Spawn
oh yeah he did
that floating city
KingD19
He also punched through a mountain or underground stone tunnel with no problems.
BruceSkywalker
what are astro boy's feats??
Impediment
Iron Man and Thor take him. Iron Man can match his air speed and air agility while hitting him with Stark technology while Thor flies behind and lightning bolts his robotic ass to death.
Astro Boy might be stronger than Iron Man, I dunno, but he is definitely not stronger than Thor.
marwash22
Astro boy's island/city feat is better than anything Thor did in his two movies unless i'm remembering it incorrectly.
Impediment
Agreed, but Thor's sheer Asgardian power to channel lightning and his accuracy to throw Mjolnir along with Iron Man's tech should be more than enough, methinks.
Robtard
Astro Boy slaughters them with his cartoony nonsense.
marwash22
methinks Imp is correct, I'd have to watch the movie again to be sure, but i don't think Astro's durability is all that high. Lightning would probably ef him up.

You hear that, Rob? Marwash agrees.
Go back to masturbating to the Powerpuff Girls, you closet case.
the ninjak
Thor hit the sky quickly in his fight with the destroyer and once in the sky showed the ability to rain lightning bolts into multiple targets (whilst bleeding from enchanted dagger wound).
Such bolts should halt or phase a machine like Astro. Then Hulk jumps on him and pounds him into the earth until shattered.
Or Tony cuts him up with the red lasers. Or Hawkeye shoots an arrow onto him that destroyed a chunk of the helicarrier.
Robtard
LoL, you people. Lightning isn't doing jack nor shit to him.
Astroboy took several blast and several barrages of missiles in direct hits until be was finally KO'd and fell from the city all the way down to earth. This was when he wasn't fighting back and recently discovered he was a machine.
Edit: Here's the full movie, you gays. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIcQFdSRhoI

Calm down, Rob.
awermm
Robtard
I will not ****ing calm down!

Chest, vag and anus. I need the triple-treat-combo to calm the level of uncalmness this thread has made me!
Impediment
The vag and brown eye might take a while. Until then, here is my wife's chest.

This is most good, most good indeed.

Nephthys
Manga Astroboy stomps.
After watching the only fight from the movie on youtube I can't see him winning here though.
Impediment
Dude, Manga Astroboy raeps.
Movie version.................I still say that Iron Man and Thor win, but not easily. Throw in Hulk's green ass to try to pull him out of the air and it's all like "Finish him!" The operative word, though, is "try".
Cap, Black Widow, and Hawkeye do shit. That is, of course, Hawkeye is good enough to tag AB with one of his bad ass arrows.
0mega Spawn
Astro Boy wins this... he held up a city...
& punched drilled his way through solid mountain in mere seconds
one could argue he one shots everyone
Impediment
What were AB's weaknesses?
I've seen the film, and loved it, but I forget, truly.
0mega Spawn
wasn't it that red energy stuff?
Impediment
LIcQFdSRhoI
At 1:17:45, AB does, indeed fly underneath the floating city, but he doesn't lift it up. Actually, he uses his jet boosters to keep the city from plummeting to the ground, and the city, itself, does crush AB. So, essentially, he was able to slow down a falling city and not lift it up.

The Negative Energy Sphere? I think that it was, but I can't recall.
Robtard
That city slowing feat alone makes him far to durable to be harmed by the Avengers.
Apply the weight of the city + gravity pushing down on him and then apply the power that his thrusters were putting out pushing upwards on him. His body is nigh-indestructible.

Should still be more than enough to net a win from what I see. Plus it appears he survives the island falling on him... Not sure how good his energy resistance is, but he should be able to take any physical attack the Avenger's throw at him.

**** this thread. uhuh
Astro Boy wins for reasons Robby defined. Durability is sheering and stress and strain forces (no, I did not miss a comma). For Astro Boy to even slow the decent of that island city, his durability is absurd. Hi2u PSI. And tunneling throw the rock like that, as fast as he did, puts his "strength" and speed at absurdly higher levels than even Hulks. He one shots the entire team in about a second.

Holy sh*t. The first thing that popped into my mind was some lubed up t**** f***in'. So delicious looking.

BruceSkywalker
did astro boy withstand punches from a "hulk-like" character?
0mega Spawn
by hulk like you mean a godzilla sized robot then yeah
KingD19
The General Bot was bigger than the Leviathan's wasn't he?

Before we can even entertain such a question, we first must establish whether or not it is even a legitimate question.
Can Thor aim and fire his lightning fast enough to tag Astro-Boy?
A better way of wording that...
Was Thor ever seen aiming, firing his lightning, and hitting someone as fast* as Astro-Boy? If so, what was the outcome? If not, then the question is useless in contributing to the thread.
A linear top-speed is not the same thing as fast. Fast, in this context, is the ability to quickly accelerate and change directions.

ok just watched the youtube vid..
the fight scenes between astro boy and the giant robot tells me one simple phrase..
HULK SMASH..

Good point. So we should say he has no speed because his speediness is flight-based?

Oh, that's your point.
Nah. He seemed to move rather frantically deliver punches all over Mr. Trashman's face...something very superhuman.
So now what?

The part of the movie where he flies around really fast punching the Trashman in the face.
KingD19
He also was punching at a pretty fast clip when he tunneled through the mountain.
SamZED
Bump
Machine gun butt wins imo.
XanatosForever
^ Yeah. Anybody trying to get up behind that astro butt is getting blasted.

SamZED
Also his strength feats are better than even Hulk's.
Supra
Lighting from Thor toasts Astro circuits.
SamZED
Didn't they electrocute the crap out of him to bring him to life in the first place? Anyway, doubt Thor will go for a lightning strike right of the bat, Astro looks like an ordinary kid after all, also it usually takes Thor time to charge his attack. And looking at how easilly AB judo flipped that huge ass robot he might very well be strong enough to rip movie Thor's head of with a move.

Thor is pretty much indestructible with really no weakness cept magic, his head being ripped off not going to happen.

Like Hulk hands
KingD19
Astro going by feats is by far easily capable of harming Thor with physical force alone.
SamZED
Ive only seen few epsodes of 80's anime so going by the movie version since it's a movie vs forum anyway. But I was wondering - did it piss off many fans of the classic AB because they slightly changed his origin in the movie by givving him kid's memories? Originally he was just a robot that looked similar, right? Other than that the origin was very close and well done imo.
KingD19
I never saw the original anime as it was after my time. I saw the early 2000's version that was on for a while though.

I guess you didn't watch Thor until the end when he survies a direct explosion of the bi-frost and rainbow bridge without a scratch.
