If nobody cared theme parks would not have been created and no new films would have been made. Potter films have made more than Lotr films. Suck it. As per popularity I believe Harry Potter wins if the research I've looked at says it beats Star Wars.

In terms of if the wizarding world met the Star Wars universe. Star Wars greatly outnumber Harry Potter and has the force while Harry spotter has magic and that's it. Also I say just magic because HP magic seems so limited in a way. However the Hp universe would do a lot of Damage before it over. Firestorm, feindfure can work.
