Battle in Metropolis.
No prep, no BFR, no mental powers.

Reeves Superman? Spite

riv6672
Spite implies malice aforethought.
Chalk it up to me thinking Shaw has a powerset (Reeves) Supes never went up against.

^ No feats of him throwing that outside of the Fortress. This battle is in Metropolis stick out tongue

TheVaultDweller
Good point. This obviously means that Superman gets a massive amp inside the fortress... Cuz reasons.

riv6672
^^^he even nailed Lois in there, didnt he? Homefield advantage in that place for sure.

Would have never thought of this battle, but man would it be a fun confrontation to watch Reeves' big blue boy scout go up against Bacon's playboy Bond-esque with mutant power supervillain.

The screenwriters make it interesting by having Reeves punch him a few times, Bacon absorbs his power and punches back while taunting him, then Reeves overloads Shaw until he explodes in an array of sparkling 80's action effects.

Can Shaw be overloaded? It's definitely possible but a nuclear core didnt even make him get close to showing strain. And the closer he gets to Clark's strength, the easier it will be to damage him in return.

It took him a long while to absorb that nuclear core though. So It looked to me like it was taking effort.

Reeve-Superman uses his Mutant Power Draining Vision ftw here.

Looked like it took time because of just how much nuclear energy is contained in a core that lets a sub cruise sround the world for like 20 years.

As powerful as he is I don't think Shaw can't take the sunlight in his body or something. The core feat showed he coyld absorb passive energy sources as well.

And I have no doubt he can absorb punches and energy powers

I suppose it could have been down to the energy output rate, rather than his absorption rate.

That said we cant just use no limits fallacy either. We dont really know if he could take the full power of a nuclear bomb in 1 punch. Maybe he could, but we just dont know for sure.

But damn wasnt Shaw the greatest villain of the new class trilogy. >>>>> Apocalypse Thats for sure.

riv6672
He was all OVER Apocalypse, yeah.
