Kevin is home alone as Stripe and 20 Gremlins try to invade the McCallister house. At midnight is when Stripe is going to launch his attack, Kevin has to hold them off until sunrise. How long if at all can Kevin hold them off?

Kevin knows they are coming and has 5 hours prep time and he has access to whatever he had in his house from the first Home Alone.

Making an accurate trap becomes harder the smaller and more agile a creature is. Especially one as chaotic as the Gremlin, inside of a house they have so any avenues of approach it's not even funny. If they were like dogs and could only walk/run would be one thing, but with their abilities to climb and everything else on top of intelligence they would be very difficult to hinder.

Humans with all of their intelligence, are going to usually go in a pre programmed route to get to something you know they will take the stairs, doors, windowes etc.

Cmon Riv, do you even ambush tactics bro? Just kidding. I hope this makes sense to everybody.

20 is a lot, even if they just straight bullrush in a single file column, probably ly half are going to get to Kevin. Remember, his traps are a one trick pony, and they are going to hinder Kevin's ability to move around the house and evade the Gremlins as well. O top of them being tough little bastardized and most of his tricks being non lethal, I see very little chance of him winning this scenario.

Perhaps 20 is too much. How many could Kevin handle?

I honestly couldn't answer that question, depends on how realistic you wanna get with the whole thing. I mean a child handling two experienced (supposedly) adult men is pretty far fetched as it is. Adding multiple, magical little monsters adds a whole new level of variables.

With everything going his way, and the gremlins falling perfectly for his shenanigans, it's conceivable that he could take out ten maybe.

I firmly believe 5 gremlins or even less could end him. But I'm just one poster, I'm sure others might have good arguments to suggest otherwise.

I still got to side with the Gremlins. Especially if the Grems play it SMART! They won't just bust in like Marv and Harry. Gremlins like to stick to shadows and hide and do ambush attacks. That and the Gremlins have No Probs with out right killing.

Kevin McCallister absolutely demolishes here, that kid might as well be a reality warper with what he can accomplish and he's one of the greatest strategist and prep-man of all time, surpassing even Batman.

Look, Kevin was great and all but that's 80 percent all based on plot, and his enemies we're complete retards.

Man, I haven't seen either one of these franchises in like 20 freaking years. I'm getting so old. I'm gonna have to rewatching both of these. Brings back so many memories

been years since I've watched either franchise but I think Kevin can handle them

And he very well could possibly survive, but everything would have to go purely in his favor. As several of the tricks he used wouldn't work well on the gremlins. The tarantula for instance. They would just rape it

Kevin's not going to attack them like that, and that would go poorly for a small, scared child attacking 20 gremlins, vs a grown woman protect ing her house and kids fighting then one at a time.

And there's also a big difference between the gremlins just running around ****ing off and them actively searching and attacking Kevin. Huge difference.

Also, Kevin is smart plus he is aware of the Gremlins (prep)

Well, Kevin having knowledge of the Gremlins and prep (as per the OP) gives him a platform to work from thats at least equal to plot, where he was basically taken by surprise, and to be fair, the wet bandits were very successful thieves, who just totally ran into a force of nature in Kevin.
The two found themselves in a RL Bugs Bunny cartoon, and couldnt deal.
Keven brings a lot of of chaos to the table. The Gremlins arent used to working against a character as off the wall as they themselves are. They rely on shock and awe. Kevin wouldnt be shocked or awed, he’d just have 5 hours to plan out a shooting gallery.
