Nibedicus
Geralt faces off against GoT fighters. Arena style combat. Setting is similar to the Mountain vs Viper battle. He is fully healed and rested after every match and retains the experiences he gains after every battle.

1) The Hound
2) The Viper
3) The Mountain
4) Dayne
5) The Hound and Arya
6) The Viper and The Mountain
7) The Viper and Dayne
8) Hound, Mountain, Viper
7) Hound, Mountain, Viper, Dayne

How far does the Witcher get? He is allowed to potion up and use magic.

juggerman
He clears easily. You've allowed him to power up with potions and use magic. He cuts through all of them

Nibedicus

SquallX
He still clears.

juggerman
I said what I said

Jmanghan
Geralt no-diffs, lmao.

jaden_2.0
Unfortunately he then loses to Samwell Tarly due to impenetrable plot armour.

juggerman
Well if we're considering plot armor, Witcher loses to Arya wielding a blade of grass

TheVaultDweller
Geralt should take this with potions and Signs included. Even without them, he's likely on par or even potentially superior in every individual physical category to everyone else on this thread. I say likely because the Mountain also has outright inhuman strength and toughness, for example. And the Hound also has some really impressive strength feats, like cleaving a guy in half with a single sword strike. But even though his physical attributes aren't that overtly highlighted a lot of the time, Geralt himself can throw a Sylvan around, send a Striga flying back several feet with a punch, even after his potion had worn off some, and casually cleave a guy's skull apart with a jerk of his sword, to give some examples of strength. And can shake off getting smashed into walls hard enough to break stone and swat crossbow bolts out of the air. Potion for a further amp (which allowed him to somewhat wrestle with the Striga, who was strong enough to break through a length of chain that was repeatedly wrapped around it) and Aard for distance control (especially useful against multiple opponents) and he should have it. I am still iffy on the other Signs until we actually see him use them onscreen in a fight. In the rounds with the Viper, Geralt's enhanced vitality should help against any poisons he might try and use.

BruceSkywalker
Geralt takes this

KingD19
Dandelion will be singing Toss a Coin to your Witcher to the crowd while Geralt takes win after win.

Adam Grimes
Serious Geralt one-shots them.

KingD19
Aard at full force will shatter the bones of just about everyone on this list. Even Mountain will be in some serious pain.

FrothByte
He clears. Even without potions and signs, he might still have a chance. He's massively faster than majority of the GOT fighters, more skilled, stronger and more durable.

Arya is fast but doesn't have his reach or strength.
Viper has reach and is decently fast but can't match his strength and durability.
The Mountain is inhuman and will be a bit of a problem, but he's slow as hell.
The others use swords like they weighed 20 pounds and swing them like baseball bats.

To be honest, GOT was a good show with some great characters but they had some pretty shitty fight choreography which makes them crap for vs. threads like these.

John Murdoch
Two questions:
1. What is everyone's opinion on Dayne vs Geralt?
2. Is this zombie Mountain or base Mountain? Zombie Mountain took impalements to the chest and eye and had a 2-ton stone drop on his back that showed all the lethality of a softball falling from 5 feet high on a normal man's back.

IMO though, Geralt massacres. He is all of these GoT characters wrapped up into one magical diet-Winter Soldier killing machine. As Froth says above, fast as Oberyn but way stronger, as quick as Arya but way stronger and has more reach, as strong as Gregor and Sandor but way faster and more skilled, etc.

Side question, all: is Witcher worth watching? I could barely get past the first episode.

I have to agree. It always amazed me that a show with such a big budget and high production quality overall had such shitty small-scale fight choreography. Because they weren't too bad at doing large-scale fighting. But the individual melee combat remained consistently terrible throughout the show. And the people being actors isn't really an excuse IMO. The technology and filming techniques to compensate for that have existed for a while now, especially when you have like $10 million budget per episode, or some shit close to that, like they had for the final season.

dadudemon
Geralt takes on and bests magical beasts that are far superior to anyone on the list.

If we remove the plot device struggles from the show, and focus only on his best achievements, Geralt can take on every individual in that list, at once, and beat them all rather easily. He's a legit magical being with super human abilities.

This is simple maths:

-The Hound killed his zombie Mountain brother, sure he died too, but it's a win, ergo +1 Hound

-Zombie Mountian would destroy Geralt and go about his rape-y ways, ergo -1 Geralt

We know that +1 is greater than -1, ergo the Hound wins

You could argue that the Hound gets a score of zero since he died too and that's not a crazy argument, but maths still dictates that 0 is greater than -1

KingD19
Bad math is bad.

Robtard
Extrapolate

Adam Grimes
Both the mountain and the hound are slow as phuck and weaker than even show Geralt.

Robtard
Bullshit aside, you think Geralt could take down zombie mountain with his armor, strength, nigh endless stamina and insane damage-soak?

Why do you think Geralt is stronger? Human Gregor crushed a skull with his hands, zombie Gregor is stronger.

NemeBro
Zombie mountain's armour is made out of styrofoam. The Hound stabbed right through it and it proceeded to fall apart lol.

Strength is arguable (at least, how he compares to Gregor is), but speed is not. Even unamped Geralt can easily parry a crossbow bolt after it was fired. His speed is at a level far beyond the fastest of these characters (Oberyn, Arya, or Dayne), and his strength is comfortably beyond anyone except maybe Gregor Clegane. And honestly, probably even him based on the Striga fight.

It's like the Demon of Dadu said. All these characters are essentially normal humans, with only Sandor and Gregor displaying any superhuman characteristics at all. Geralt is supernatural creature beyond the ken of mortal men and women.

You could argue that the Hound gets a score of zero since he died too and that's not a crazy argument, but maths still dictates that 0 is greater than -1 Going to disagree here Rob. Geralt is faster, stronger, more skilful, has better damage soak and a Kamehameha style attack.

TheVaultDweller
The thing I actually found impressive about the Striga fight is that Geralt was technically holding back some. Because he was trying to cure it, so wasn't applying lethal force in the manner he usually does.

I dunno. Amped Geralt is pretty strong. We see how strong the Striga is at around the 1:00 mark here. And while it did seem stronger than Geralt, he was able to resist it some, like slamming it at the 1:30 odd mark and resisting it on top of him at 2:18 mark:

vXMMKwLuDac

There are more strength examples in the second half of the fight (after they smash through the floor), but nothing beyond what's already been shown or mentioned in the thread. That being said, the Mountain is also a beast in terms of strength. Issue is that Geralt is WAY faster than him.

TheVaultDweller
The main thing I personally think Geralt actually has on his side is speed. Because, fun fact; a lot of people seemed to have missed this, but he actually deflects two crossbow bolts in this scene. But the second one is so fast it's extremely easy to let it slip by, at the 0:57 mark, while he is transitioning between enemies:

biZwR6CzVzs

But if you actually go so far as to use the YouTube player to slow it down to like 0.25, you can see the bolt split apart on impact with his blade.

Why do you think Geralt is stronger? Human Gregor crushed a skull with his hands, zombie Gregor is stronger. In the Striga fight he demonstrated higher strength than even Zombie!Mountain while also being a lot faster and skillful.

Not to mention he has signs -at least Aard, Quen and apparently Yrden have been shown so far- to aid him.

ShadowFyre
I'm just starting it today. Hope it's good.

Fair enough argument guys thumb up

TheVaultDweller
I kind of want to see an arm wrestling match between Geralt and the Mountain now though. With potions, and without. Should be good.

I found the first ep slow too but it gets much better by the 2nd episode. Great series.
