Looks to be potentially more interesting than Afterlife. Afterlife sucked.

Robtard
Thought Afterlife was decent enough.

This looks decent enough.

Kazenji
I liked Afterlife alot

for some reason i was expecting them to go the Disney route and rehash Vigo the Carpathian again

Looking forward to it, Glad that they're doing something new.

^^^Something new AND it seems to be st in NYC, which I appreciate. The Ghostbusters are right up there w. Spidey and TMNT as New York characters.

Kazenji
Finding out this movie has taken inspiration from The Real Ghostbusters cartoon, Basically the filmmakers wanted to make a long episode of that show.

riv6672
^^^Yeah I heard about that earlier and thought it was cool.

roughrider
It's being directed by the same guy who did the lame Poltergeist reboot. Don't get your expectations high.

riv6672
^^^I'm gonna keep being jazzed for now.

Hm, interesting. I didn't realize that. I figured it would be Jason Reitman again.

Anyway, that guy did City of Ember, too, which I thought was decent. So there's hope.

Kazenji
^ He also did Monster House, I've heard that was good too

This looks better than Afterlife, but I'm really just not into the whole Stranger Things, kids vibe thing. I wish they would just do something with all adults.

Yeah, maybe like all female adults, perhaps largely comedians and some from SNL... oh, wait...

That man has no dick! eek!

Kazenji
Old dickless is back.

riv6672
^^^He still looks the same, too!

Kazenji
Weird coming from him saying that there was no eyewitnesses from the events from first movie

there was litrally a 100 feet Stay Puft Marshmallow Man walking through the city and he also gets covered in Marshmallow from it.

riv6672
^^^That can all be done w. mirrors.

This was much less terrible than Afterlife.

That's about as much praise as I'm going to give it. A bit too slow moving until the final act, which I actually don't mind too much, except everything on the trailer was from the 3rd act. At least this fillum knew something about set ups and payoffs.

Kazenji
Probably going to get around to seeing this movie next week.

Patient_Leech
It's fine. Not terrible, but it certainly could have been much better.

I might have heard about a longer cut, but the 2nd act certainly doesn't need to be longer. The opening sequence and finale should have been expanded, though.

Because it had women in it?

Darth Thor
I liked it. Defo preferred to Afterlife.

Unfortunately seems like its kinda flopped which means another reboot in a few years.

What the hell, Kaz, are you suddenly a noob? Most movies have to make at least double their budget to START being profitable.

It may not be completely finished, but so far yes, it's flopping. I'm sure the studio execs see this as a failure with such a huge, marketable, nostalgic IP.

You're the one who said Afterlife sucked, just asking a question. 😜

Wow, the Drinker liked Afterlife!

I thought he hated strong female characters! Maybe he liked that she's nerdy?

Frozen Empire looks like dud;

And thats the problem with modern day studio's.

Bill Murray spent decades saying no to any more Ghostbusters sequels. He seemed the most eager to appear in the 2016 reboot as a different character, to put a stake in the heart of the old franchise; the death of Harold Ramis also seemed like the nail in the coffin. But, we know the firestorm around that all female reboot. How much money did they have to give him in the end, to come back for these two middling films?

The nostalgia wave is maybe the biggest money maker in Hollywood right now, besides the MCU. It must be driving studios crazy, because they can't predict what nostalgia works to bring in audiences and what doesn't.

For everything that's hugely profitable - the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Top Gun: Maverick, the new Halloween trilogy, the Jurassic World trilogy, Spider-Man: No Way Home...

You have the ones that crash and fail - Superman Returns, The Matrix: Resurrections, Terminator: Dark Fate, The Exorcist: Believer - and apparently any new Ghostbusters movies.

Darth Thor
^ Probably wasnt paid too much. Hes hardly in it. It was like in our faces they cant afford any more of him.
