I was devestated when I heard the Linkin Park single during the trialer. Why...?

Maybe it's just me but this version puts mutemath's attempt to shame, it's not great but it's better than mutemath's crap.

The record labels are complaining about piracy and people downloading from the internet, but when they do stuff like this what do they expect? if the score was available to buy when the movie came out I would of been the first one out of the theater to go buy it.

The 20th anniversary of the 1986 film has an amazing soundtrack. I recommend it over this piece o' crap soundtrack.

I hope this score comes out sooon, i hate it when they do this, they are going to loose even more money because of people pirating off the net. instead most would of probably bought it after they saw the movie if it was availible.

Oh the 1986 soundtrack definately. I mean, transformers throwing down to Wierd al's "Dare to be Stupid" is...well....yeah, lets just find the Scoreby Steve Jablonsky to the 2007 film.

Lion's performance of the TF theme will always remain as the greatest in my opinion.

Yeah I got it, but it was sold out at Target AND Hastings so I had to go to Circuit City to get it. Its actually really good: What Ive Dones awesome and theres several other songs that I really liked: Second to None, Pretty Handsome Awkward and Before its too Late

I loved 'this moment' if you were a Disturbed fan you'd know what I mean when I say that was classic Disturbed. And I don't like Linkin Park but 'What I've done' wasn't that bad either.

i've never listened to any western rock punk whatever music, and after hearing "what i've done", i decided to check some of the artists out.

i was disappointed.

Yeah, the last song the Transformers theme or w/e was f*ckin gay I agree, thats the only song I hate, but the rest of the album for the most part was quite good.

The score by Steve Jablonsky was pretty good - channeling the spirit of Jerry Goldsmith if you ask me. The songs were good and well-placed; glad they didn't use them constantly. The sampling of 'Battle Without Honor Or Humanity' by Tomoyasu Hotei, when Bumblebee changes to a modern camaro was terrific.

I have the original Transformers: The Movie soundtrack too - on vinyl.

The point is we shouldn't have to wait.... they release the crappy music inspired from the movie CD and leave the score for who knows how long, it's a crock of sh1t, they should release it when the movie come out. then maybe they wouldn't loose so much to piracy.

Composer Steve Jablonsky, who collaborated with Bay on The Island, scored music for the teaser trailer long before actual work on the film. Scoring took place in April 2007 at the Sony Scoring Stage in Culver City. The score comprised six major themes over 90 minutes of score, including the teaser music. The instrumental soundtrack is said to be released sometime in August of 2007. Tom DeSanto wanted to work in an orchestral version of the TV series song, but he and Bay never spoke with each other much. Mute Math performed a cover version instead. The band were childhood fans of Transformers, and were approached as their style suited the sound of the robots in the film. It only appears on the album.

The Allspark one has almost every single one of them, I don't see why you can't simply wait.

We shouldn't have to wait, a movie of this stature, should of had the score released when the movie came out, making people wait for it is the worst thing they could of done.

It doesn't matter that you shouldn't have to, I'm simply stating you severely lack patience, I want to hear all of the score as well but I'm not complaining that they haven't come out with it yet.

I have a ton of patience, and you should be complaining that it hasn't come out yet, cause it's a crock of sh1t, every other movie even the crappy ones have scores come out when the movie is released.

My theory is if they are taking there sweet time with releasing the score, or if they release it in limited release, and you find it on the net then it's perfectly OK to download it. With movies, if you have paid the money to see it and then you go download it thats OK too.

The score was a huge let down for me. Even if that cheesiness was intended, it was not appreciated.

Hated the others. This a TF soundtrack or an tri-annual show for the blandest most unimaginative, lacklustre and musically fad-ensnared emo bands in existance...?

The latter, imho. The only tune memorable enough in the movie so that I went home singing to myself: "Drive" by The Cars was left out....!

SpeilBaycorp would have had to parted with a couple of dollars to make something cool for the fans that actually liked their movie.

Young director...? I Remember watching The Rock like 11 years ago at the cinema. Lets face it. There are younger. Both age and career wise. Kevin smith made his debut a mere 2 years before Bay (And Bay had lots of experience in TV commercials before that.) So is Kevin Smith still regarded as new/young/fresh? Maybe comparitively when compared to say, Coppola or Romero but with big money and subject matter at hand, is "hes yooouuuuunnnnnnnng he'll learn the ropes" something we should still be thinking when the man's works have included such mastabatory atrocities as Pearl Harbour and Armaggedeon etc...?

I'd be very surprised if he all-of-a-suddenly learned what depth was.
If this guy directs his urine flow like he directs his camera movements, then I aint cleaning up after THAT dude!!!!

And eleven years is surely enough time for him to meet other composers.

Close encounters score and end sequence's 5 note classic..
The Indy themes...
The armageddeon/the rock/transformers/pearl harbour shared score.
The Simpson's theme...
The Burton Batman themes for the first two films...

There is distinct composition and variation on Burton and William's works. Memorable and melodic as well as rhythmic.
Williams and Burton are capable of conveying a film's unique character. When I hear E.T's score, I know im watching E.T.
When I hear The Raiders march, I know Im watching Raiders of the lost ark.
When I hear the TFs score, I can't tell if Im watching TFs, The Rock or Armageddeon.

Now try humming any passage of music from the score of bay's films
without having to listen back to the films running.

Then, if that works, try humming or singing/whistling the Williams/Burton riffs to peeps to see if they recognise the tunes..... followed by whistling any Bay scores, and see who can recognise what.


A Bay film's scores are so lacking in actual content (especially compared to William's) that the composers are like 3 leagues apart, imho.

And the OST sounds more like a film about a bunch of Emo kids playing cage-fight in thier back yard.

The 1986 OST did not.

and directors once they find a composer they like they tend to stick with them. Even Alin sylvestri , james horner, jerry goldsmith scores sound similar in places with their other works.
But If the score is done right and I listen to it I know what movie it is from without having to see the movie with it. Transformers score was excellent and so was the rock, you know a score is bad when you either don't notice it in the movie at all, or it make the movie suck

That's not saying much about the score's non-availablility to the public though.

I honestly liked the theme performed by Wishbone. Look it up.

I guess I will be ordering it on amazon or download it, as it is not available in Canada (they are calling it an import) and it sells for 25.99!!!!!!
way to expensive, the record companies are crying over piracy and loosing money then they don't release it and if they did it is ridiculously priced, so they force you to download it, what a joke. at least it is legal to download music in canada.

Imported TF soundtrack from the American made feature film, I thought I'd never see the day...

Linkin PArk sang their OST "What I've Done"...rock!!!

mute math rocks and check out their album too their new hit single "TYPICAL"... and a comeback of SMASHING PUMPKINS was a bonus, as usual the pumpkins delivered...

The soundtrack was good. Linkin Park sang the song What I'v done for the movie transformers. And also my favorite band Taking Back Sunday has a track in the Transformers OST. Nice!

I read somewhere that Claudio from Coheed And Cambria had something to do with the music in the movie, anyone know if theres any truth in that?

they come up with the good sound track for the movie.

EDIT : HOLY SHIT , I just found out that Stan Bush (Mastermind behind 'You got the touch') , had composed TWO new songs for the movie. BUT, he was turned away. WTF ! GODDAMN EMOS !
