You may be recalling Snapdragon, who was indeed a dragon in one of his alt modes, but he also was a triple changing headmaster who turned into either the Jet, a Dragon or his robot form.

And the jet was transport for his nebulan head/pilot/co-habitant.
They used to hang with Apeface and his headmaster pilot.
Apeface was a Robot, Jet and..... .........Gorilla. shifty

Actually I was referring to the three headed dragon who was the leader of Jungle Planet in TF: Cybertron.

Sadako of Girth
Ooooh shit. Got me there then... lol

Shockwave could fly at high speeds in gun mode.

Two other Decepticon cassettes - Slugfest(stegasaurus) and Overkill(tyrannasor)

Sadako of Girth
Yeah but its not meant to be a form of transport for others....Good call on the decep cassettes though. smile

Ah. I was referring to the Beast Wars version.

Sadako of Girth
The character has still been a mode of transport. stick out tongue

You wouldn't list Megatron in a "characters who did not transform into a Walther P-38." thread after all, would you......?

Soundwave may have been a jet on Cybertron in recent stories, but WD set out the thread citing Soundwave as not being so.
So I guess that gives G1 or the original character the right-of-way on that.

Scythe
Perceptor.

Ah, but I was thinking he couldn't transport people.

Sadako of Girth
Scythes right.

Perceptor (at least G1 Perceptor) was a Microscope.

Scythe
Yeah, I don't remember if any of his other modes was a transport vehicle. I don't even think he's had any other modes besides his G1 form.

Tenebrous
Perceptor has a "mobile laboratory" mode. I'm too lazy to upload a pic of the toy in this mode so here are the instructions showing how to transform it.

http://www.botchthecrab.com/archive/instructions/autobot/1985/instr_perceptor.jpg

IIRC there was a brief episode....maybe the one where they shrink themselves down to size and invade Megatron inside his body, that Perceptor used this mode. I forget when exactly but he does use it, and it does move.

Ah shit you're right, haha. I barely remember that.

Sadako of Girth
That mode was like having a cement mixer have wheels to move it.
It never transported anybody.

moocow111
G1 Megatron
Fotress Maximus - Maybe he did, I can't remember.

Sadako of Girth
Maximus did in the Cartoon. His battle vehicle mode could be used as a ship.
