hey have you all hear because paramount is being a dork by saying there only going to release the transformers movie on regular and HDDVD only NO blueray because of that michael bay said NO to transformers 2.

Transformers director Michael Bay has responded to Paramount/DreamWorks' decision to become exclusive to HD DVD instead of releasing movies on both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD:

Bay said: "I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!"

Will this change Paramount/DreamWorks' mind about at least releasing Transformers also on Blu-ray Disc? We're not sure, but we have a feeling Mr. Bay isn't the only unhappy one. Yesterday's press release itself concluded with a note that read, "Today's announcement does not include films directed by Steven Spielberg as his films are not exclusive to either format."

Hollywood is virtually in a civil war over this stupid HD/Blu-ray format war. They are complaining about losing money because we, the consumers, won't choose a format and buy it. Well, pardon me all over the place, but I'm not buying into a format that is (A)still too expensive, and (B)has a 50% risk of being the one that becomes obsolete. Choose ONE format, you friggin' suits, and we'll come along.
The Bay quote sounds sensationalized. He didn't seem to mind Pearl Harbour being released on HD DVD alone. If he doesn't do Transformers 2, it won't be because of a petty thing like this.

Hes just kicking up a fuss trying to strengthen his bargaining power for negotiations still, I bet, hoping that they'll all go "Ohhhhh Michael, please make/save Paramount more money- We'll do anything you sayyyyyyyy...!!!"

Either that or the valid fan reaction to the liberties he took has scared him off.

Having your life threatened repeatedly by rabid fanboys (calling from their Mom's basement, no doubt ) can wear on you after a while. There would be less pressure to go make Bad Boys 3...

When I myself let rip in protest, I've been pretty hopeful that its taken as meant... Good natured chop-busting.

Besides, if someones dead, they can no longer learn not to make shit movies.

Damn, even though I moved out in the nineties, I must look into getting a basement to live in...... Kinda feel ive been missing out.

Porn will decide which format stays. I'm so convinced of this! Blue-Ray porn may win over HD porn, no one will know except porn. It worked wonders for choosing Beta or VHS, it'll work it's magic to the masss of pervs, and they shall decide which format stays.
