been reading alot of the older gl stuff, to me guy has come a really long way, and is able to compete with the top brass moreso now than ever...

He pretty much had Hal beat, when they fought over the right to be Earth's GL. He lost without the ring, but I he put up a really good fight. Hal even had to withdraw to his "safe-place" to survive Guy's pounding

Hal and the rope a dope for the win. Whilst I love Killowog and I really do, he is not a human green lantern. Human Green Laterns rule the corp, John Stewart included.

just read it... guy definitely had the edge physically, and he had kept in better shape, but i do think hal knew what he was doing and played it smart...

the ring battle looked pretty even though, and i think hal back then is a shadow of the hal thats flying around now... given johns' retcon wouldnt hal have been infected by parallax back then?
