Ah look this bio is more accurate then the first one. It acknowledges two separate actions. The (1)Amputations of the Future reality, and (2) the manifestation Universe.

If the reality Jean manifested in her hand wasn't 616 then why would Jean call the people within her friends and why would she be so concerned about their future?

The Here Comes Tomorrow future was amputated by Jean as stated and carried away BEFORE she went into the WHR. On top of that it was green in colour. What makes you think the reality she manifested within the crystal was HCT?

If the reality Jean manifested wasn't 616 then why would she hear events that happened within 616 as she gazed into it?

If the reality she manifested wasn't 616 then why would she apply her power to it, only for there to be changes seen in 616?

An alternate future IS 616 up until a point of divergence. At that point of divergence that reality branches off from the main trunk that is 616.

It is not a totally separate tree.

The difference with Here Comes Tomorrow is that it wasn't just a divergent future, it was THE future of 616. It wasn't until Jean amputated that future and went on to alter the event which caused the HCT future(Scotts reaction to Emma) that this future became just a possible future and therefore gained a separate reality designation 15104.


The handbook states it was an ALTERNATE future. That means by cutting away that future, you're taken back to 616 at the point of the divergence.

Jesus i knew this thread wold turn into another Phoenix "blah blah blah" thread.

The one thing i've always thought about while reading Mr M and GS debate, is how apparently one can be so right, and the other can be so wrong, according to each other.

So one of them is reading, and interpreting the comic so completely wrong, and the other is reading and interpreting it so completely right, and they've virtually never agreed on a single point.

Don't be so hard on yourself.

A divergent future reality of 616 would literally be 616 up until the point of divergence.

Think of 616 as the trunk of a tree. The divergent reality would be an offshooting branch.

You agree that Here Comes Tomorrow was a divergent future timeline, the point is even stated.

If Jean has cut away that future part of the timeline then she is going to be left with 616 before the event which caused the divergence from the main trunk.

That is the whole reason why she changed 616 Cyclops actions, she wanted to alter the divergence point so that the Here Comes Tomorrow future would never arise.
