Not sure if anyone seen the movie Wishmaster.

If you have, would the Djinn have a chance if he was able to use his powers at any time.

Symmetric Chaos
The Djinn kills him. He never demonstrated any real limits.

He's also (objectively) far more awesome than Thanos is.

Agreed. The Djinn sent shivers down my spine.

The Djinn was pretty powerful more so than the Leprechaun from the movies and even he would probably rip off Thanos' heads.

What's to stop Thanos from sealing him in something like that wizard did?

Very good point, but keep in mind, the wizard was facing him using his powers at will.

The very first scene of part one wasn't the use of his full powers IMO.
He was destroying everyone around him, because of that wish the King made.

Just My Opinion.

Or Thanos decides not to wish anything and or wishes Djinn simply left.

What? Thanos is a smartass like that.

Yeah seriously, why didn't they just do that in the movie?

Barbarian Shams
That Djinn always scared the crap out of me in the second movie. The actor who played him in the first two movies really had an evil vibe to him. I'd like to think that a Djinn just is not quite Skyfather level or anything on the level of the extreme arch-demons of comicbookdom. But a Djinn can accomplish just about anything going by the wishes of whomever summoned him. Imagine the kind of hell that would result if he was ever freed from confinement.
