the quote didn't bother me ... didn't add anything (like most inthe movie), didn't destroy anything (like almost nothing in the movie)...
queeq
But... there was no "Trust me".
DarthLazious
Holy shit I never noticed that untill now.
Thanks guys for the update.
CadoAngelus
was it: "She made the kesler run in 5 parsecs"?
Sadako of Girth
Was it the cunning usages of the words "and" and "of"...?
I noticed those were both used in both movies.
queeq
SIgnature quotes, man, signature quotes.
CadoAngelus
Watch out for THE double whamy's
Sadako of Girth
Yes. Its quite true.
"The" was used flauntingly in both movies too.
Sadako of Girth
The simlarities are astounding, when you look at them closely.

And Jar Jar was the one that thought up the master plan for the russians.
queeq
I thought he was the director...
CadoAngelus
Director, producer, the one that thought up the master plan for the russians, human resources and authentic mock-idiot
Sadako of Girth
LOL John "Jar Jar's little b*tch" Hurt
queeq
Maybe that wasn't John Hurt at all, maybe it was Ahmed Best in a John Hurt costume.
(please let it be so!!!!!!!!!!!)
Sadako of Girth
Yes you could tell on close examination: The costume looked rubbery and wrinkly.
CadoAngelus
and it had floppy ears
Sadako of Girth
Exactly.
Bugger it.
Youve convinced me.

I think i might have also seen an ewok at the psychiatric hospital scene.

Not even when they're wet and you rub them severly?

Its interesting that you say that about "Sadako's Rock Band"...
Cause one of my old drummers actually is a dead ringer for the one portrayed above.
Who is the new pasty guy...?
Do we need to learn a bluegrass set...?

Yeah, sorta a Yellowcard-esk lineup of 'ska-not-ska ska punk'. And the new pasty guy is called Sam, he's a bit nervous as you can probably tell
queeq
I like the violin player.
Sadako of Girth
Nervous as he rightly is, given theanti-violin playing contingent of the rest of the band.
They think it all to bea fiddle.
queeq
Which it is, but a good one. It must be hard to have someone in the band who actually grasps the concept of melody.
CadoAngelus

I do too. It's a welcome change to all these bands that have a stereotypical lineup of guitar, guitar, bass guitar, drum and vox - although some bands try and throw you off with a synth that doubles up as a guitar.
But I do like the violin solo's yellowcard deliver.
Lol...
I dunno, some hardcore/metalcore/thrash/deathcore bands grasp a limited knowledge of melody - inevitably lumping them into melodic hardcore/melodic metal/melodic thrash/melodic death metal etc...
Depending on how fast paced and agressive you're willing to go into the metal scene - me, the furtherest i got was deathcore, then i backed off a bit, and i'm happy with bog standard metalcore
queeq
Hehehe... still hard enough I guess.
Sadako of Girth
Listen to more Faith No More.
If you want crushing riffs and great melody.
I was always taught that "violins should always be the last resort".

FNM album: released in 1992.
Its actually my favorite album or all time.
Classifiable (only just classifiable as anything) as alteranative rock.
But some f the most melodic, weird, catchy, dark vs light, beautiful and flowy vs ugly and crushing kinda stuff going.
I highly recommend it.

Epic was on "The real thing"...
Midlife Crisis though, that was on it.
They proudly attempted commercial suicide with "Angel Dust" after "the Real thing" Patton started singing like a man with balls, the songs got more diametrically opposed in the balance of beautiful/ugly and it was/it just is really weird. So many oddly balanced styles on each tune.
Jizzlobber, Kindergarten, Be Agressive, Caffiene, Everything's Ruined, RV, Malpractice, Crack hitler, Land of sunshine...? Totally revolutionary album. And the last album with Jim Martin on guitar, no less. Haunting, unique, crushing, deep, not-easy-listening record. It seperated the hardcore from the pussies, listening wise.
CadoAngelus
Maybe the version of the album i looked at was a special/limited edition re-release. It also had a cover of the song Easy (can't remember who originally did that)...
But i sort of understand what you're saying, most of their songs i've listened to have catchy tunes but if you listen to the lyrics it's a completely different story...
Sadako of Girth
Twas Lionel Ritchie and the commodores.
That was standard release after 1993, I beleive..
They used to play it to piss off the metal fans who would demand their cover of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" night after night.
They'dplayed it for years, before committing it to record.
(Probably why it sounded so good as a straight cover)
Its just their f***ed and very sharp sense of humour.
Mine was bought on the 1st day of release and didnt have Easy.
The japanese version had a reworked "As the worm turns" (The original of which was on an earlier FNM album with Chuck Mosely singing. (The guy who originally sang "We Care a lot"
Absolutely.
Theyve always done that. "Edge of the world" on "The Real Thing", sound slike a lunge jazz/bules crooning number and sounds melodic and pretty, but the character portrayed int he lyrics its essentially a child molestor praying on victims.
WAY f**ked up.
Doubley f**ked up via its juxaposition.
queeq
Ah, it's a music thread now.

Sadako of Girth
Heh trueism.
Bush loves lamps and war.
CadoAngelus
maybe that explains why he was at war with some country throughout his entire presidency. Because he thought you could turn war on and off, and start a lamp...easy mistake...for a retard
Sadako of Girth
Too true....

Its like the kind of nervous laughter when looking back at the darkness of the car crash that you only just escaped from... funny now, painful then, seeing the biggest superpower in the world ruled by a nut with a low IQ and the weaponry to match and fill the void left by his smarts.
