Well I don't mean physically intangible - I mean existing on a different plane entirely and undetectable by Superman, unless Prime developed psychic powers I don't know about.

Shadow King, as an astral being, is generally undetectable by those without telepathy until he starts possessing people. And Johnny Sorrow exists in a different plane as well, until he removes his mask that is.

What exactly happened with Mxy? Wasn't he depowered?

What happened was a case of the writer not doing their homework.

A being who looked more like the Earth-2 Golden Age Mxy was blindsided by a punch coming out of nowhere.

He was then whisked off and supposedly constantly depowered by the Earth-3 Zatanna who was "draining his magic".

Ugh.

Though in the defense of those who wrote it, there was a Young Justice issue where the powers of Zrfffians was described as being "Hexnology", a perfect fusion of magic and science.

And then there was that Batman arc where the Bat-mite hallucination claimed that the 5th Dimension was imagination.

And it doesn't help that the Thunderbolt keeps being treated like it's magic.
