i've noticed that i am among a very small minority (at least amongst my friends) in thinking that Will Ferrell is a thouroughly unfunny c*nt

i've tried my best to watch what most of my peers regard as his best...namely anchorman....and i never laughed once

then there's this "craze" amongst my work collegues in thinking that term "jive turkey" is hilarious when the fact is it's ****ing rubbish

so perhaps the film fans of this forum can tell my...what's so ****ing funny about Will bastard Ferrell?

Toku King
Because they're funny?

Bardock42
Anchorman bored me.

I liked Stranger Than Fiction, Talladega Nights and Old School. And I liked some of his cameos. But he is way overrated by some folks.

SnakeEyes
With me it's either hit or miss.

I liked Anchorman because it was the first time he really did that type of humor (at least on the big screen) so it was new and fresh, etc. After that he sort of milked the Ron Burgundy attitude. With that being said, I still like Anchorman, it's just dumb, funny entertainment.

Stranger Than Fiction was good because it was much more serious/a different side of Will Ferrell. Talladega Nights was decent as well. Lastly, I thoroughly enjoyed his cameo in Wedding Crashers.

Other than that, movies like Blades of Glory and Semi-Pro just don't do it for me.

Will Ferrell's overrated for sure, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he's an unfunny c*nt.

I agree

Impediment
The man is very overrated, but I loved Anchorman and Old School.

T.M
I agree with you.

Very overrated. I don't find his movies funny at all.

WrathfulDwarf
Beats me...his movies are average comedy jokes. Nothing outstanding or hilarious.

A bigger mystery is this one...Why do people like Adam Sandler movies?

Selphie
I've liked maybe one or two movies that have Will Ferrell in them, but other than that, I really dislike the man.

I like a few older Sandler movies, but I have no idea how people can laugh at Big Daddy, or anything newer than that.

my 9 year old nephew likes them

Farrell is funny. He's a very funny man. But his movies are really nothing more than 2 hour long SNL skits. So, in a skit, he's a very funny guy. In a two hour movie, he becomes base and irritating. There's a reason an SNL skit is 4 or 5 minutes long. Because after that the characters become boring. Much like Jim Carrey.

Can't you say you just don't like his movies without the need for calling him a **** and a bastard? what's the point...

As for Anchorman, I don't get what the deal is either. One of my friends says it is one of the most funny films he has seen ever, and a lot seem to agree with him.

I do like him in some films, one that's been mentioned, Stranger Than Fiction, liked him a lot in this one.

Also, Blades of Glory, Zoolander, Winter Passing, and Melinda and Melinda. Though most of the ones I like are more serious than full on comedy.

That's all really. Last one I watched was Semi-Pro, didn't laugh once in that, terrible movie.

Blax_Hydralisk
I thought he was ultimate sex in Zoolander. Mugatu is one of my favorite characters ever.

If that was directed at me, I didn't call him anything other than funny.

If it was not directed at me, disregard and please continue with your day.

MildPossession
Nope, not directed at you.

jaden101
it was directed at me...and the answer is...no i can't....for emphasis reasons

Ya Krunk'd Floo
I laugh during Will Ferrell movies mainly because of his face; he makes such wonderful faces.

That scene in Wedding Crashers when he strolls down the stairs? I cry nearly every time.

ragesRemorse
Will Ferrel's humor is always of the same formula. considering this, it is strange that i sometimes enjoy his movies and am sometimes offended that someone would think i would find such material humorous. WTF is up with that huh?

I'd like to know how anyone can stomach a Daryl Hannah or Andy McDowell movie.

Both women, both have a dude's name, both suck hard core.

jaden101
Daryl Hannah was in Kill Bill....so she gets a pass

BackFire
His facial expressions are a big reason. He is the best at giving a confused kinda look. He often looks like he's confused and about to snap at the same time, but he doesn't really know why.

His delivery is usually spot on, too. He can turn a joke that's merely average as far as the wit goes, and make it work by his delivery alone.

Take the now famouse "I'm kinda a big deal" phrase. See it on paper, not funny at all, hear his delivery, and it's funny.

I like the guy, his work on SNL is legendary and most of his movies crack me up. Humor is obviously subjective, though, so to each their own.

No, Kill Bill might get a pass, but Daryl Hannah will just have to wait in the car until she's cool enough to get past the bouncer.

I think I actually saw a porno with Daryl Hannah in it. No joke. Actually sucking hardcore.

How do you think she got into mainstream movies? All you have to do is watch her and you'll know her profound ability to orally pleasure a man is the explaination for her career.

Don't worry, I was only joking about getting excited.

I seriously hate when people try to explain how things arent funny or how people aren't funny. It's all personal preference! I'm pretty sure Will Ferrell has been in So many movies because he was absolutely brilliant on snl and has worked his ass off promoting himself. I give that dude serious props. He's probably my favorite comedic actor behind maybe mike Myers. My favorite movies come from people like Mel brooks, but I also love movies other people consider not funny like blades of glory. If you hate someone's movies so much, why are you talking about them?

dynamix
i think he's pretty funny lol. think i dig most of his movies. "The Other Guy' was awesome lol

Jmanghan
"Why don't you go back to your home on whore island?!"

Patient_Leech
I saw The Other Guys a week or so ago and thought it was pretty funny. And I actually kind of liked Land of the Lost, oddly enough. It surprised me. Anchorman is a classic. Most of his others I've never seen.

Now, comedians who aren't funny would be Tom Green, the Napolean Dynamite guy, etc... people like that. You know, because they disappeared never to be heard from again.

jaden101
As in what films?

The Cornetto trilogy
Dumb n Dumber
Four Lions
In the Loop
Seven Psychopaths
Bubba Ho-tep
Office Space
The Bucket List
Team America
The Big Lebowski
Tusk
So I married an axe murderer

TV shows

The thick of it
The league of gentlemen
Maron
Family guy
Extras

I actually didn't mind Step Brothers or The Other Guys although I thought Mark Wahlberg was funnier than Ferrell in that. Cracked up at his reaction to the big boy pants bit. 'you're scaring the shit outta me, man. Stop it'.

Esau Cairn
The main problem with Will Ferrell is that he relies too much on improv. What may have been funny on the day of filming...with cast & crew in hysterics does not guarantee it will still be funny to the general public.

Improv is good for a 5 min skit but not something the main star should rely on to carry a movie.
