Sounds interesting. I'll be keeping my eye out for this one. Since a kid, Hercules is my favorite Grecian mythological character.

Shaft? I don't get it. You mean will i get mad? Or happy? Hercules is White, like you, already.

So, Shaft?. Please explain. Never heard of the term. Maybe it's a White thing/saying/joke, dunno.

I think his charisma often hides how one dimensional he sometimes is. I also think he has potential as an actor but is rarely given anything to work with or maybe just isn't directed very well. However, i think Hercules is to big of a role for Rock, or perhaps, The Rock is to big for the role. I could be wrong but i'm thinking, like, the scorpion king, i wouldn't see Hercules on screen, i would just see, The Rock .

Nothing against Dwayne, but movie still looks like it's gonna be ass, and needs more Kevin Sorbo for Hercules.

rudester
Dwayne johnson is a good actor and he probably was picked because of his previous works as the scorpian king but most importantly is his massive size that not that many actors can fill. Also he is not the first wrestler turned actor but is the one with the most experience on his shoulders. Greeks can be tanned as well. Kevin S was a great Hercules but he was to nice and often at times made it hard to believe he could get angry, he was also more slim and tall which made it hard to believe he could be so strong.

Im sure u wont be the last person who thinks the rock is to big or to dark but he has the most wide rang of movies under his belt, same could be said for superman played by how many actors. Henry civill who played man of steel would be my first pick or the guy who played thor but give some work to the other actors..lol the only thing wrong with dwayne johnson is his voice, he talks like a robot.

I'll have to look more into it.

Thracian Wars is the legitimate production, the other one is not really even a legitimate film I thought.

EDIT: Yea, Legend of Hercules is a complimentary secondary-film, that's why it won't be in theaters. It's like that spin-off Thor film that never made it to theaters, unrelated to marvel movie. These are apart of marketing, they aren't real productions, well they are, but they're not.

Renny Harlin's a well respected & decent director (Die Hard 2, Deep Blue Sea, Cliff Hanger...).

I doubt he'd agree or want to be associated with a "spin-off" film.

Na. It's not too much to ask for something not to be utter shite given the production costs of most cinema released action movies nowadays. It must get to the point when they realise during the making of it that it's going to be crap but know they've spent so much on it that they have to release it to recuperate some of the money.

To illustrate my point I need only say 2 words.

John

Carter

The irony being the thread above this in this forum I have a post that proves this generalisation wrong.

I call shit when it looks shit. And great when it looks great. Most of the time I'm right and some of the time I'm wrong. Trailers can be odd that way. An example being that the 3rd Man of Steel trailer was nigh on perfect and while the film was decent, never lived up to how the trailer made it look. It's difficult when they cut a trailer and basically outright lie about the tone of the film though. Jason Statham's Hummingbird is an example. Trailer made it look almost like a typical Statham action movie when it was mostly about his awkward relationship with a nun.

the problem is that it's a movie about a marvel character. what are they gonna do, make a completely non-lookalike thor?

would kind of make it redundant.

Lek Kuen
Nothing will stop them from making a Thor movie. But once he starts hanging out with the marvel characters they would open themselves up for legal issues that could snowball into bringing up they rights they do have.

To bring Thor in they would have to make him so much different that it wouldn't be worth it.

Movie wasn't terrible but it was mind-numbingly predictable and by-the-numbers. Every twist, every character arc- there wasn't a single part of the movie that took a risk.

Only thing that surprised me is how close it came to passing the bechdel test. Two women, talking to each other. So close. If only they'd talked about something other than Hercules...
