In the rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrred corner:

The new CGI Clone wars movie.

In the bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuue corner:

Highly anticipated KOTCS.

My simple question to you all as both Indy and Star Wars fans:
Which movie for you has the most smegma all over it...?...?

queeq
Hmmm...since Clone Wars is prolly EU and can be ignored as the next big project in line, I fear it must be KOTCS.

Sadako of Girth
....and cosmic justice, for now, flows as it should lolz

Sadly, it counts as cannon- so I have to say the Clone Wars movie is the bigger disappointment. At least Indy... I can't do it. They both suck.

Sadako of Girth

queeq
Well, the 21st century Lucasfilm productions just about ruined the reputation it had in the 70s and 80s...

Jovan
The Phantom Menace was 1999 and thus it was 20th century. so just say they had a rep in the 70s-80s and it went downhill in the 90s already

queeq
Details.

Jovan
not really because they already published crappy books in the '90

Kazenji
Such as ?

Jovan
basicly every book besides Zahn's trilogy...

queeq
SW is actually a bit off topic here.

Perhaps there should be a third option that allows to participant to simply chose Mr. Lucas as the one who sucks; along with every bent-knee pandering lube job out there that still swallows his smegma.

queeq
Someone hulds a grudge. wink

I resent. "Hulding" a grudge is of no interest to me, anymore. I don't lap up every nugget of crap he lets fly on the consumers that finance his intentional abuse. He isn't interested in furthering a beloved mythology, he's only interested in using that mythology to help him sell his latest bit of technology to a movie industry that laughs at his techniques but utilizes the product he's peddling. (Which is more often than not is refused as a legitimate method of the film makers around him that are concerned with the product, rather than the process.)

queeq
Hmmm... I think I don't want to see you when you DO hold a grudge then. wink

Too late to edit the options I think, though yes, perhaps there should. stick out tongue

queeq
Are you volunteering? wink

Sadako of Girth
For real. big grin If I could, Id include that option, along with:

Speilberg shifts the blame away from himself yet again..!! stick out tongue

Which one is it?

http://www.southparkzone.com/episodes/1208/The-China-Probrem.html

It was the definitive Indy IV related south park episode: Season 12 episode 8.... big grin

Lucas and Spielberg raping Indy... those scenes are hilarious.
"Can you squeal, boy". laughing out loud

*Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-eeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!*

Deliverance-tastic.

I was equally floored by the close up on Lucas' face on the "The Accused" bit. That money-shot-face of his killed me.

queeq
It was superb... It's striking how well they were drawn, and then those looks...

The Accused bit was outstanding. Guess Trey Parker truly hated KOTCS. laughing out loud

Sadako of Girth
Yep. A man of good taste.

queeq
big grin

Sadako of Girth
Apparently Spielberg insiders don't want to engage it.
They were apparently literally saying "We just want this to go away".

S'funny. The audience largely felt that way about the movie. stick out tongue

queeq
I think Trey Park hit the mark right on the nose. A monkey and gopher nose to be exact.

Sadako of Girth
I hope he broke those noses in several places, perhaps reducing them to powdery slush......

...........maybe setting them ablaze too......

....those CGI varmits've gotta pay.

queeq
As well as them rapists.

Oh no, we pay them.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH...

Sadako of Girth
You can, if you like....

I'll be keeping my cash.

Theres a recession on, y'know....!!

So Ive definitely gotta save my cash for good movies.

stick out tongue

queeq
You paid to see this one, dude. Don't deny it, rapist-financier.

Sadako of Girth
Its true!!!! And my wallet just cant get clean..

It wont wash off...! confused It won't wash OFF....!!!!!!

I apologise to the my fellow cinema goers for this momentary lapse of descernment, I have learned my lesson and will not repeat the mistake.
And like you all who paid also, I paid in more ways than one...!

queeq
Who'd have thought TAOS would lead to Shakespearian quotations...

Sadako of Girth
Indeed..!

"For have the not-raping Indy talents of Spielberg and Lucas not heard the chimes of midnight....?" stick out tongue

"Cry havoc! Let slip the CGI monkeys of warrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...."

"To be a decent movie or not to be...."
(I guess it was a "not to be" kind of afternoon, that day.....)

queeq
"CGI provokes the desire for filmmaking, but takes away the performance."

Sadako of Girth
And lets not forget Jar-Jar.

queeq
I didn't... unfortunately.

Sadako of Girth
I know..... it still hurts...

But he now looks like a gritty Marlon Brando performance next to the Gopher-toned sillyness of TAOS...

queeq
laughing out loud

I hear JarJar might be making his appearance in Ep8 of Clone Wars.... *shudder*

Sadako of Girth
Well at least he'll be more appropriate in that series with age level it seemed to be aimed at, judging by the insipid big 'cutesy cutesy' Pixarish 'Toy Story' approach of feature release..

In fact he looks comparitively dark and edgey. (like the Terminator or something) next to the stupid, stupid, babyish battledroids in the movie.

queeq
Oh no... you think JarJar is about to redeem himself?

Sadako of Girth
Well he kid of did in Clones by revealing the purpose of his general idiocy:
Only a complete idiot would have given Palpatine the emergency powers that set him up as emporer.

And at least his prescence in II & III were minimized.

(Though we had to wait 'til the Robot Chicken SW special to see him killed stick out tongue )

Ergo Jar-Jar is a gritty Scorsese/Coppola-directed picture of neccessity and cool, next to Mutt in Indy IV and the battle droids in ROTS and the clone wars .

Sadako of Girth
Hah!

I don't believe it!!

They've really turned Clone Wars around...

Sure, Anakin's Padawan's insistance on calling R2 "Artooey" annoys and sure Anakin's voice/personality is a bit generic still, but dammit, they've really toned down the worst elements in the movie release, and started playing to SW's strengths in the series.

From the episode where the debris field/Plo Koon stuff happened, it was quality, quality, quality. Y-Wings for ferk's sake.......!!!!!!!!!!!
More serious-acting badass droids...!! Grevious...!!!!
This is all starting to seriously outweigh the gripes...
And thats the way it should be. Things are very rarely perfect, and thats accepted, but as long as the good shines through the shite, then I'll be tuning in next week.

There is hope after all........!!!!!!

(Indy IV still sucks royally though. stick out tongue )

queeq
It's still a fairly mainstream series. Hardly renewing.

Sadako of Girth
Exactly. But rough with the smooth is what I say...

queeq
Meaning? We get great visuals with mediocre storytelling?

Sadako of Girth
I thought the pace and direction/quality of story had picked up really in the last few episodes.. if anything is medocre about it, its still the portrayal of Anakin.

Its no ESB but its scoring way better than it started to at the beginning.
The kinda comeback that Roy Jones jnr can only now envy...!

(Theres no Jar Jar as yet either, increasing its coolness tenfold..... stick out tongue )

queeq
Jar Jar will return in Ep8....

Sadako of Girth
Well.. this week's one should be good, at least....

queeq
R2!

Sadako of Girth
Yep... I wonder if there is a CGI Kenny Baker in there....? stick out tongue

queeq
I'm sure there is. I bet we'll get too see him peeking through the big glass eye.
