Whats a 'prep'? People seem to either hate or like preps, wtf are they? Are they like goths or something?

Preps are like.....cheerleader kinda people I dunno I cant really explain

I hate preps...

I hang out with the average people, that are easy to get along with.

yah preps are lame, read the yearbook staff..those are usualy a good example

Yearbook, cheerleaders, some football players, usually the popular kids are all preps.

I'm actually glad I wasn't a so called popular kid...cause then I'd hate myself.

Im a Brit so the term 'Prep' is basically unheard of here (except for in American based shows) although we too have categories of people that could be described as Preps. Mostly people are categorized as 'townies', goths, 'squiffs' (i.e. geeks) etc, although i tend not to try to categorzie people as a result of the way they choose their lifestyle.

i used to fight a lot of preps. we 'skaters' or whateva they used to call us liked to pound a few preppy pr*cks now and then. for some reason it was always them who started the fights.

man high school sucked...

I never got in fights, but we'd always glare evilly at the rich snobs.

And they'd look scared and turn away, maybe they thought we were gonna pull a Columbine.

Yeah, it was actually my mom's idea...cause we were moving from Tennessee to California, and it wasn't exactly decided where we would live, so I just stayed out of school, we ended up moving to Reno within a month anyways.

I just never went back.

I was passing school anyways.

i skipped 5th grade....my mom was TRYING to hometeach me......

I was NEVER popular through the high school! I was reject..and there were few other rejects who REFUSED to follow the crowd of preps...ugh!!

Anyway, i still outvoted most popular girl at the begining of the school year when i got voted in as a representitive of our year...seniors, the last year! the only reason she wanted it was because you get to skip classes when you have some conference thingy to do...

Guess there were more rejects than popular kids in school who voted for me!

preps, also known as preppies, always wear the exensive clothing, and generally "snob" the "lower" kids or people belwo them. A jock is a preppie. A hot chearleader that doesnt talk to non-cheerleader girs is a preppie...

i hate the preps at my school, they think they are better than everyone else UGHHHH...hate themm...no...i l o a t h them...

there are different types of preps. there are the real preps ( rich, stuck up, bitches that don't know what a mop is. Jessica Simpson). there are the preppy preps. ( everything as a real prep except they aren't rich. and they know what a mop is, they just pretend they don't.) the poser preps (try to be someone they aren't. and suck at it too. Avril Lavigne) there is the ***** prep (basically anytype of prep except with another side of bitchiness. i can name a few, just would rather not) the preps that don't give a **** (they know they are preppy but dont care or deny it. they also aren't bitchy. they tend to be nice i'm friends with a few of them) the normal preps ( preps that are just like normal people. except they are really annoying and don't stop talking.) or just a **** prep (crunchy *****. they are nastier than a ho and practically wear nothing. Justina), the guy preps (any of the listed above except for they are a guy. guy preps tend to be jocky too. i dont' like jocks.)

so pretty much, prep is just a label, same as goth. but preps are hated by goths and other people. no matter how many types of preps there are, they all have one thing in common. they all are (or can be) very stuck up and the biggest ***** you will ever know. and almost all of them like pink or some other nasty bright color like that.
