with viruses and adware. i defeated them last time but they have attacked once again with a stronger army. theres this one that every time i delete from ctrl+alt+delete it appears again to stop me from sending it to the recycling bin because im "using it". and its rapidly spreading and infecting my pc. ive run norton anti virus but when it picks up a virus it shuts down. anyone got any tips for this big battle?
Deano
download adaware from download.com
or download spysweeper
or spy doctor

I can't really give you any tips with this, but it would be better if you had panda antispyware system. this runs over your PC daily and it usually detects any viruses and removes them.
Deano
also, if you want to delete them manually, you have to start your PC in safe mode...when you turn the computer on, keep hitting f8

Unless it's Windows resident spyware and got down in your registry you should be able to catch up with Adaware and booting your system. Adaware will then delete registry entries before starting up Windows.
Additionally you can (in case you run XP) restore your system to a point where everything was up running without bugs - and then run Adaware or your virus scanner ..
if it's a virus going into the boot-sector only a boot with a CD-Rom or disk will help - and from there start a anti-virus prog
Red Superfly
Run ad-aware. Or spybot search and destroy.
Try AVG antivirus.
If it's a .exe file that's causing problems, note the name and google it. Most viruses have removal tools out there. This one should be no different.
Stop going to naughty sites.
Stop using Peer-to-peer networking like Kazaa (Kazaa is the worst thing you could stick onto your computer). Even other P2P networking downloadersaren't foolproof, the likes of Limewire and Bearshare still have viruses and adware lingerring around their networks. Don't bother.
Never click Yes on pop-ups. Better yet, get a pop up blocker.
Turn off Active-X in IE or get Firefox instead.
Don't install plug-ins unless they are from reputable sources i.e. Macromedia Flash.
