So, I've seen a midwife and had it confirmed that I'm around 8/9 weeks pregnant. Need to have my first scan which will date it properly and give me a definite due date but I'd like you all to know that I'm having a baby

Haha, I did two store tests myself. Then I saw a nurse who asked me why I didn't just book straight in with the midwife when I made my appointment, so I told her it was because the dumbass receptionist clearly didn't listen to me when I told her I'd done two tests already which were both positive. So then I saw a midwife later that day

That's incredible, Syren. Congratulations. Any idea on names yet? I think you should name it Razzelix if it's a girl and name it Batman if it's a boy. Imagine how cool that would be. People would HAVE to call you Batman. He would be to cool for school. All of the teachers would be like...,"yes Batman?" Or...,or at the Doctors office the nurse would call his name...,"Batman?" and then he could stand up in front of everyone and be like "dammit lady, stop giving my secret identity away." Unless of course he went to Doctors office dressed up as Batman and in that case it would be even cooler.

Oh...well condoms aren't always gonna prevent you getting pregnant or...whatever protection you used it's never 100% effective

We don't know the sex yet but we'll find out on 6th Jan I'll be 12 weeks on Tuesday. My first scan confirmed I wasn't as far along as first estimated

Kids are expensive pets.

They are also a lot of fun, after the first 3 months, or so, of sleepless nights and shitty diapers. You get used to it.

It seems only yesterday that my daughter was small enough to hold in my hands, now she's in kindergarten!

I'm 14 weeks and 6 days today, all well so far. No picture from my first scan though as I didn't realise I'd have to pay for every copy, including my own. I will have a picture from the next one (6th Jan) and will hopefully know the sex. If anyone's interested I'll take some pics of my little bump and put them up soon

Had a checkup with the midwife today, all well. Clear results from my initial blood tests, iron count good and blood pressure's back up again which is a relief as it was quite low. She used a miniature ultrasound device on me and we heard the heartbeat again, I will never stop being blown away by that

Had more blood taken and other samples and was weighed so they can screen for Downs Syndrome, I'll get the results from that in a few weeks.

We have, Jamie chose Leia Rose and I really like it Due May 25th, I was 10 weeks exactly on my first scan which was Oct 27th. I did think I was further along but I wasn't

I know! I'm eating like a pig though, not starving myself or anything silly. Drives me crazy when people actually try to keep their baby small for an easier birth, some people on a forum I joined have actually said they carried on smoking to ensure a lower birth weight I've put on around 12-14 lbs so far

Been considering other names (we currently like Leia Rose) and I've come up with Poppy - although we still need a middle name to go with this - and since watching The Lovely Bones I've decided I really, really like Saoirse. Apparently it's pronounced 'Seer-sha' or 'Sayr-sha' and it's Gaelic and means freedom. My name is Gaelic and my younger bro and sis are called Caitlin and Conor, which I chose and which are also Gaelic. There's a theme within our family... even though my other brother is John

Well, if I'm honest I'm uncomfortable most of the time because I have problems with my back and a water infection (which the docs gave me penicillin for even though I'm allergic), but other than the bump my body still feels the same

Well, currently 31 weeks 5 days All going well so far, bump is massive and I'm having difficulty sleeping but other than that no problems. Our ante-natal classes start 12th April and I'm looking forward to those, lots of handy information plus I want to experience everything as it's my first pregnancy. Baby squirms ALL the time but it's ever so sweet and she gets the hiccups a lot too, which feels odd

My girl is coming from her doctor's visit right now and I get to find out when the c-section is scheduled for!

I didn't get to go today, I have strep throat at the moment and didn't want to risk anyone else getting sick.

How exciting! Any particular reason for the c-section? How long do you guys have to go, approx? Being a parent is so awesome Hope the strep throat clears soon, Jamie's father had that on their last visit here and he was laid up in bed for 4 days. He never rests if he can help it so we knew it had knocked him sideways.

Several reasons. She was apprehensive about going natural. Her other child was emergency c-section, so the doctors are saying it needs to be cesarean this time around too.

I can understand why she'd be apprehensive, it's extremely traumatic both physically and mentally! I must say I feel very fortunate that my labour was relatively quick and problem-free so I was able to deliver naturally and with no pain relief etc. Most women aren't that lucky. How are you feeling about impending fatherhood?
