This thread is dedicated to the funny man of X-Factor. No, not Iceman, but the other funny man of X-Factor. Guido Carosella aka Strong Guy. I feel Strong Guy is one of those underrated....well... strong guys(no pun intended) in Marvel. He doesnt get many one on one fights and he doesnt have that many feats, but hes a cool character none the less. His powerset is pretty cool imo, similar to those of Inner Circle leader Sebastian Shaw, but with a couple of minor differences. Strong Guy has become my favorite X-Man powerhouse(surpassing Colossus on my list). I guess i tend to have a thing for underdogs. Well, enough with the intro. Heres my tribute to Strong Guy. Any additions are welcome. Enjoy!

Here Strong Guy fights Slab from the Nasty boys. Slab has the ability to increase his size, thus increasing his strength and durability. Guido also destroys the Washington Monument. By accident ofcourse, lol. Also note, how most of the pieces fell on him and he was unharmed.

Guido takes a tank being thrown at him and absorbs the impact. After that, he knocks his foe quite some distance.

Here, Guido first faces Temolo who has the ability to emit sonic waves. Guido absorbs them to protect Shrew. He is then crept up on by Briquette. She has the ability to radiate heat from her skin hot enough to melt metal. they exchange punches and they both go through the floor of the building to the basement. Strong Guy is unharmed.

As seen in the last scan above, Strong Guy is poked by Cyber. Briquette continues to heat things up and the boiler explodes as does the building. Cyber and the Belles escape, but Guido is left inside to take the brunt of the explosion. He absorbs the impact.

Strong Guy's first encounter with the Blob. He realizes Blob's mutant power after his first attempt to move him, so 2nd time around, he just removes the ground from under him.

X-Factor Tussles with X-Force.

Strong Guy takes slashes from both Feral then Shatterstar. Although Guido makes the "Arrhh!" sound, he quickly recovers with a counter attck(although he misses). Rictor then tries to use his shockwaves on Guido, but it doesnt work.

All out rumble between X-Factor and X-Men, vs X-Force. Guido takes a couple of hits from Warpath, then he one shots him.

I know that AoA is non canon stuff, but heres Guido in AoA. Gladiator tries to smash Guido and crew, but he pays the price. apparently, Strong Guy knocks Glads so far away, he bfr's him, lol. Knocks him into orbit?

Strong Guy vs Blob. This fight has a few nice feats for ol Guido.

1st one is that he takes the impact of Blob falling from out of a plane in the sky, then is followed up by a hit from Blob that sends him flying some ways. You know thats gotta hurt. Guido quickly recovers and chases after Blob.

Guido actually falls from the plane and lands on the control tower in which he crashes through ALL the floors. All is absorbed, and he comes out even more juiced.

The plane that Blob hijacked is now headed straight for the terminal. Strong Guy not worrying tooo much about being ran over, decided to try and stop this SPEEDING jumbo plane. High end feat imo. Also note that doing this in addition to all the energy hes built up starts to wear his heart.

Fight continues....

Strong Guy and Blob exchange fisticuffs and with enough punches to get Blob off balance, Guido PICKS the Blob up including pieces of groud beneath him. Very high end feat considering only 1(or is it 2?) other persons ever done that.

Fight ends. Gas tank explodes. Out of the fire comes Strong Guy with Blob(Blob took the brunt of the explosion). An exhausted Guido faints after a looong battle.

Strong Guy fights some half metal half beast. During their fight, Lila and Polaris are looking for a device in which Polaris has a bunch of metal in the air. Guidos fight makes its way to Polaris and bumps her and causes her to loses concentration on the floating objects. Guido and the beast are covered in tons of scrap and metal. Note some of the pieces were plane parts. Again, Guido absorbs the impact and defeats the beast. Second time Guidos heart gets strained.

Same issue, it finally happens. Guido protects Lila from a bomb and while absorbing the explosion and saving everyone in the area, Guido's heart gives out and he has a heart attack. Sad.

Jamie, after being presumed dead also pays Guido a visit. Havok(who is now with the new brotherhood) gets into an argument with MM. Somehow all that and Jamie's words in the end spark Guido to come out of his coma.

Forge made Guido a device that would transmit energy to Guido's heart. He has his surgery sometime between X-Factor #135 and the Strong Guy Reborn mini.

Strong Guy vs WWH. Some may not consider this much of a feat, but i do. Unlike most powerhouses, he decides to use his fighting skills to stick and move against Hulk here. Guido ALLOWS Hulk to hit him and as a result, he puts Hulk on his ass. The only other powerhouse that did that(that i can remember) was Juggy. Hulk even commented on the hit saying that it wasnt bad as he grabbed his jaw. The part i call bs on is when the hit supposedly strains Guido's heart. Thats shit was taken care of years ago and should have never happened. Did the writer forget? Did the writer not know? I called PIS then, and im still calling it.

Funny that just 2 pages later(less than a minute in the actual fight), Guido tells Emma(who is in diamond form btw), Nightcrawler and Hepzibah to get behind him as Hulk tosses the Blackbird's engine at them. Sems like Guido absorbed most of the explosion.

Brief tussle with Yukio and Storm. I guess this was Strong Guys idea of looking out for Storm. He was trying to scare her into leaving/not getting involved the Arena underworld. Guido not being effected by Storms tornado winds is a nice feat imo.

Yea, it makes me feel good, lol. I also like how it mentions that "Guido was given a heart implant by mutant inventor Forge that directed kinetic energy to the organ, ensuring it grew in proportion with his other muscles, thus preventing further health problems."

Then it contradiction comes when it mentions he suffered a minor heart attack when fighting Hulk. Boo.
