Eh, I dont think Superman would get mauled by 1st level Kurse, as he stood his ground OK enough against DoS Doomsday (who is stronger and tougher than he was, like Kurse is here) and through strength of will managed to hold out until the fight was over. Kurses 2nd level is simply too strong for Clark, and in a punch for punch battle only, Superman would go down and Hard.
