I finally believe that I have found a suitable Marvel character that would give Aquaman a decent fight.

The battle ground is 2 square miles in size, with a quarter mile man made river that is 100 yards deep, there is no marine life within it however.

Aquaman gets his magical water hand, Ikaris battles to the best of his abilities... who wins?

Mungi convinced me that Aquaman would lose this fight.

I don't know Ikaris well at all, but reading his wiki entry (I know, I know, but what other choice do I have?) it seems to me that he is a bit above Arthur's level. That doesn't mean Aquaman can't win, as he is the king of the underdog fight, but it does seem unlikely. Give him the trident, and everything changes.

Ok Aquaman gets the Trident.
