Sequel to my Ayane vs Terry Bogard match...
The Mugen Tenshin clan is in the middle of a near-blood feud with the Bogard brothers and those who attacked the Mugen Tenshin clan.
Months earlier, Ayane was following a lead, thinking that her missing sister was in Southtown. The Hajinmon ninja assaulted the Shiranui kunoichi Mai Shiranui and her (supposed) fiance, Andy Bogard, Ayane assuming that the former was her missing half-sister.
Terry Bogard swears revenge for his injured friend and brother. With Blue Mary, Joe Higashi, and Ryo Sakazaki backing him up, they follow Ayane's trail back to the Mugen Tenshin village, where they proceed to wreck shop on the muscle.
One Buster Wolf sends Ayane to the hospital alongside her brother and dozens of ninja.
Meanwhile, Kasumi hears about Ayane's blunder and the resulting beatdown by Terry and his friends. Kasumi's attitude towards Ayane and Hayate is summed up in three words: 'Serves them right.'
Ryu Hayabusa returns to Japan and finds out what has happened, following his father's burial in the family plot. He talks Hayate out of killing Bogard and the others outright, seeing as how this entire debacle was Ayane's fault.
Instead, he offers a different solution: the King of Fighters tournament. Hayate agrees and with his half-sister and Ryu, they make up the new team of Team Ninja, and throw down the challenge to Ryo Sakazaki and Terry Bogard. Joe is competing in a Muay Thai tournament and cannot attend the KOF, while Blue Mary is on another team.
Terry and Ryo, however, get help from an unexpected source. Turns out that Kasumi had ran across Kyo Kusanagi and Kyo helped Kasumi escape Japan. When Ayane found out about this, she sends a squad of Hajinmon ninja to teach Kyo a lesson about interfering in ninja business.
Too bad that Ayane did not get the memo about the Kusanagi clan's ability to wield fire.
Terry and Ryo decide to join forces with Kyo, creating Team Hero.
The King of Fighters tournament take place. The two teams tear through the tournament, until they meet in the semi-finals. all hell is about to break lose as the two teams square off.
