Capcom has announced that Dead Rising will get a sequel (finally).

Instead of a mall, the game will be set in a town called Fortune City, a city that looks similar to Las Vegas.

Sadly Frank West won't be making a return. Instead, some other guy will take his place killing unlimited hordes of undead.

This game will be on both the PS3, Xbox 360, and the PC.

They haven't announced a release date for the game yet.


Hurry up with that game Capcom, my craving for killing zombies is increasing.

Why are you always asking them to hurry up? Its just been announced, kid. Let them spend time on it. Its for the better.

The game frustrated the hell out of me.

Very cool concept, but I got so annoyed with it.

the savesystem annoyed me at first but I appreciated it later.

I only just found out how you can start off with a super strong Frank West with the save system when you start a new game

It's coming out on the PS3 this time. Capcom needs to make money and having three versions will do that.

I don't know why all games these days don't offer a save anywhere feature ( ESPECIALLY Grand Theft Auto) but the save system was one of the least troublesome issue's i had with the first Dead Rising. Hopefully your cell phone won't ring every five minutes in the next one. Also, a more friendly HUD and overall interface would help a great deal.

A psychopath? Doubt it. In Dead Rising, you fight psychopaths.

It would make sense why Frank West isn't returning in the sequel. At the end of the story in the first DR, there is a text saying that Frank feels hungry. Meaning that Frank is turning into a zombie. Because of Frank, the infection has spread and that's how we got DR2.

Otis better not come back. He annoys the hell out of me. Whenever a zombie interrupts my phone chat, Otis calls back and says how rude I am. Whenever I'm on the phone, I can't attack, I can't jump, and I can't climb.

I hate the time limit. I can't seem to get every survivor whenever one of my missions are nearly over. You think Capcom would have somehting in the DLC store that would get rid of that accursed time limit but no. Hopefully in the sequel, the time limit won't be in there.

What's with the save systems? In games like Mass Effect I can save even while in the middle of a gun fight but in Dead Rising I have to save by either sleeping on a couch or taking a leak.

I find these three to be the only problems so hopefully they'll all be fixed in the sequel.

Now with that out of the way, yeah the trailer didn't really show much only the giant hamster ball and that Isabella has created the Zombie cure, Zombex, shame that we won't play as Frank again i really liked him but i guess if he doesn't fit in with the story, well it's for the best. I look forward to Dead Rising 2 I just home they fix all the problems from the first oh and add a CO-OP mode.

This is very interesting. Blue Castle says that there will be over 6,000 zombies on screen. That's a friggin lot.

Alot more then the first one then again it was one of the 360's early games.

Capcom is releasing the long-mooted Dead Rising 2 on August 31 for the XBox 360, PC and the PS3.

From what I played of the first Dead Rising, it seemed like a poor man's Left 4 Dead. Still not sure if I'd actually get this 2nd one, though I was pretty hyped about it at first.

Apparentely Frank West made it to L4D2 DLC and died because he ran out of film and the zombies were too fast.

Yeah well personally from what i've seen of the two you get more control of the character with Dead Rising and do hell of a lot more things.

They really go in two different directions

that'd be cool, use the xbox camera thing to get ur face on the player like in rainbow six vegas. It'd be awesome if for the second one, u got out into the town and that's where everything takes place. U could go to all the different stores around the town, it'd be a larger playing field and everything. Like in resident evil apocolypse, the city borders would be completly shut off. a co-op would be nice too. On live u could could co-op and defend against waves of zombies or u know sacrifice ur friend for urself

I downloaded Case Zero and it's decent. First, let's start off with the good stuff: 1. The AI has improved and no longer will you feel like you're leading a group of retards like in the first Dead Rising.

2. The graphics feel similar yet better.

3. Experimenting at a workshop to make combo weapons is fun and so far I mostly like combining shotguns with pitchforks.

4. More zombies than ever before and that's always a good thing for when there's more zombies, there's more killings.


Now the bad things:
1. For a download that was said to bridge the gap between Dead Rising and its sequel, it sure isn't mentioning anything from the first. No mention of Frank West, no mention of Williamette, nothing.

2. The protagonist is a badass racer who can make mass murdering weapons and yet with all that, it doesn't hide the fact he's a dotting father. So yeah, zombie slaying motorbike racer has to babysit

3. I don't think the save sytem has changed that much. Still appears to be the same.

4. In the first Dead Rising, I can go into stores and take whatever I want is in them without paying. Who would keep a store open during a zombie outbreak, right? Well apparently stubborn people would do that. Turns out that you'll have to collect money to purchase things from certain shops to get the more better goodies and even though it's just a videogame, some things from reality need to be thrown in and keeping a shop open while surrounded by walking corpses that want to eat your flesh has got to be the most dumbest thing for anyone to do. Ever. Makes you wish there was an option to rob.

5. When I drove the motorbike, I automatically remembered the clunky driving from the previous Dead Rising but it seemed that Blue Castle was struggling against it and tried to make the driving smoother. Hopefully it gets improved a bit more before the rest of DR2 comes out.

Its not ment to bridge the gap between the first one and the sequel its ment to be a prequel thing before the next game begins....

If they don't change the save system, I won't even bother with Dead Rising 2.

People hated Dead Rising's save system because there was only one slot. I just remembered that in Case Zero there's three. Can't believe I forgot that. I must be really tired.

Oh the one slot thing i agree with that it was stupid for capcom to do that especally if you've been playing the game and a mate comes over and wants to try the game out.

I think I just found something from Dead Rising 1 in Case Zero. Remember those convicts who drove a humvee? Well in CZ, if you go into the police station, you'll find three wanted posters of these guys who look kinda similar to those convicts and Nevada and Colorado aren't far from eachother so it's possible that Nevada is where they came from.

Case Zero is a lot of fun. I was surprised to see it release at 400 points. I was expecting 1200 points. Although, by the end of the game i did begin to get rather board with the game play. I had the same problem with the first, Dead Rising, aside from the annoying mission system and other problems. I couldn't play the game for more than an hour or two without getting board. I think that might be because the Zombies are un-threatening but i'm excited to try out the co-op in the sequel.

yeah, but in Case zero your watch was used just to keep track of objectives, although, i'm sure it will be more integral in the actual game

Finally got Case Zero over the weekend

i actually like the idea with the money adds bit of strategy rather then walk into a shop like the first one and just grab weapons willy nilly.

I finished Case Zero but not time to fix the bike, But i'm going through it on my second try now only need one more part for it and thats off the survivors.

Noticed for the reviews for this sequel people are complaning about theres not checkpoints and such.......but of course there is after each event.

I pre-ordered Dead Rising 2 and will be getting it tomorrow. In truth, the pre-order bonus is kinda lame. A ninja outfit, seriously? At least let the outfit give me the ability to be nearly invisible to my enemies at night or add shurikens and other cool ninja weaponry with the outfit or something.

Reviews seem solid, I might pick it up.

I'm enjoying the Terror is Reality multiplayer but the only flaw are the players. Everytime I'm in first place in the final round, people keep quitting and automatically the game is over and I can't get my money. If there's one thing I have to hate about online multiplayer, it's quitters. There should be a rule like once the game starts, you can't abort.

At least with Halo if people quit they lose their exp points.

Yeah, that is always a pain in the ass. It's especially worse when the game just ends after everyone quits out and you get no credit for the win. If you're looking to get money in Dead Rising it's actually much easier to just play that giant slot machine. I think it's in the Americana Casino.It's the one where you can play for either $100 or $1000...,just keep playing the $1000 play. I racked up 6 million in about two hours by just playing that and i didn't even have the gambling magazines.

6 MILLION?! Oh yeah, I gotta try that cuz I'm in dire need of funds.

Aside from the accursed multiplayer, I love the combo weapons. Combine a flashlight with some gems and you get a lightsaber. Now if only I can find some dark robes and then I'll be set looking like a Sith.

In case no one knows, Arthur's armor from Ghost & Goblins can be worn but you have to find all the pieces for it first. Find them all and you get bonus health points but if you lose them, your armor will break, leaving you in your underwear just like in the G&G games. Funny.

Yeah, the knights armor is cool but it sucks that it doesn't last to long. In case not everyone knows how to get the armor you just have to beat the game with an S ending (give TK zombrex ). For the Helmet you have to complete the mission, ante up and the boots are for sale at a pawn shop.

I just unlocked the Hockey mask for using all melee weapons. It took my friend and i ten hours of play time to get that infernal achievement lol. Helpful tip, When you use the bingo ball make sure no one else has used it.

Does anyone have the data miner achievement?

Is anybody else having issues with the time limit in the game? It should be 59 seconds for each minute but instead, it's 10 (or less) seconds.

You really want to play a dead rising game that lasts 4200+ minutes each time you play?
