Sir Patrick has a big place in pop culture history thanks to X-Men and Star Trek before that, but Trek has gone down with a whimper the past few years - last film drew flies!
Sir Ian has been in the game for a long time, but has rocketed to the top with X-Men and the true fantasy equivalent to Star Wars, the LOTR trilogy, which conquered the world and brought him an Oscar nomination. Based on current resume standings, it's Ian McKellen.
